Taylor Gang MikeParticipantMan, this kid is THE TRUTH.. another 20 point game last night. allot of people are comparing him to Kobe because of his movements, and he looks similar to him and his jumper, Kobe my fav player and im not gonna do that yet but Marshon can Hoop! Rumors were saying the nets will add him in an attepmt to get Dwight by trading, Marshon, Lopez and Morrow nd a first. But he is proven to be a top 5 SG in the league maybe by next year or 2….
Of you guys havent seen any1 of his games for to YOUTUBE.COM/MARSHONCHANNEL

rileymcshea3ParticipantThe guy seems like he will be a legit NBA player and I do see a lil Kobe in him but he certainly doesnt play above the rim like Kobe use to at Brooks age

For_Never_EverParticipantJohnson whatever his name is, the Celtics got in return for isn’t even a back up Power forward at best.

rickybobbyParticipantI think Boston should have kept him because he could have learned alot from ray allen and paul pierce about not just being a scorer but being a more complete player. He would also been a nice piece to help start the rebuilding process with after they leave.

PabloFiascoParticipantIts great to see how his game has transitioned to the NBA and that he’s been rather efficient. The celtics made a move they felt suited them. Brooks might not have had the green light playing under Doc Rivers. Doc doesn’t play his young guys much. The Nets better figure out how to keep him and get Dwight.
But still…SMGDH at the Celtics

Pro-21ParticipantAesthetics play to large of a role in the NBA draft, teams are always trying to pick the best looking, most intriguing prospect. I think this is because no one wants to be the one who skips out on a 6’9" guard with great athleticism, but Marshon Brooks was as good a scorer as there was in the big east and has prototypical size for the wing to go along with a 37.5 inch vertical. Some team really missed out because he will be a 20 ppg scorer for years to come.

NJHooper95ParticipantThe Big East is like the Sec in Football. What i mean by that is, they are battled tested and anyone can knock off anyone. Marshon Brooks showed that he could effectively score in the toughest basketball conference in the country last year, not a surprise that he is putting up numbers now.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantMaRshon was my Marcus Thornton of this year’s draft, I guy who you see in college and you’re so convinced of his scoring ability you know he’ll be a legit scorer at the next level.

providencefriars1ParticipantI have to admit I watched every single one of his college games and I did not see this type of success coming. I thought he would average around 10ppg at his peak but give him credit for working hard to improve his game from when he was a freshman at Providence and barely playing.

bloodshyParticipantI think some here are overstating the certainty of this kid’s future success.
"But he is proven to be a top 5 SG in the league maybe by next year or 2…." LOL. Not even close. Nothing is "proven" at this point.
He’s been a surprise player for sure. I loved him in college and have been impressed with him as a pro. He has a ton of talent and I (like everyone else) think he’ll develop into a great player over the next few years. But we’ve seen plenty of rooks put up a string of great games and disappear into the dustbin of NBA history. Hopefully Brooks will beat the odds. He’s certainly looked impressive thus far, but we don’t even have a 20-game sample size yet. People are getting too excited too soon.

paradigmnParticipantUNFORTUNETLY…lol….but Marshon has been the one bright spots (even D-Will needs to play better). He’s a "Jamal Craword" type of player…but…he can create a little more for others and has better all around intangibles. His length really helps him out as does his "swagger". He does need his shots though…but….is FUN to watch play and is effective. I will hold off on the Kobe comparisons because he did play 4 years of college ball…so essence this would be Kobe’s 4th year which was his 1st championship year.
I really followed the Mock Drafts for 2011 from not just the regular posters on NBA Draft.Net, but a lot of posters in general. EVERYONE was high on this kid…except the Celtics…lol. I remeber I wanted to put him in the lottery…but…I KNEW a team wouldn’t draft him that early…& I didn’t want to mess my Mock up…lol.
I remember having a conversation on here talking about the Draft combine ( http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/nba-combine ) Marshon clearly looked like one of the better players on the court. I also said that I was very impressed with Noris Cole (as did everyone else) and he’s looking solid as well. Bottom line with the Nets…not having Brook Lopez healthy is really hurting them…plus they look very disorganized on the court…which falls on the point guard and Avery Johnson. Hope Jay-Z can & the Russian Zillionaire can make those power moves!!!

PulseGlazerParticipantThis is really soon and he clearly lacks the strength, but is his cieling Joe Johnson?
