 Marc Gasol finally signs a deal with the Grizzies at $110 million over 5 years.

The Grizzlies’ message board is saying we should still sign a shooter, but we either have to trade some guys or sign a really cheap shooter.

As of right now, we have an undersized backup center Brandan Wright as a third big and some unproven backup 4’s in JaMychal Green, last year’s second rounder Jarnell Stokes, and rookie first rounder Jarell Martin.   Nobody would be shocked if Stokes doesn’t even make the team this year; or, he ends up in the D League all season.

The top of the West looks loaded with the Spurs and Warriors, while the Thunder should be healthy.  The Grizzlies look to be right behind those three.

 Worth every penny. As far as signing a shooter goes, I’m still surprised that they passed on RJ Hunter with their 1st rounder (although not sure how much help he would have provided as a rookie), he seemed like a perfect fit.

Interesting opinion on Stokes, I thought he was one of the biggest steals last season and his progression in the D-League made me think he would get some PT this year.

I’m not sure it it’s possible given the money they have available but Dorell Wright and Alan Anderson might be options as shooters on the wing.

 Always though the Grizzlies could beat any team on any given night with the talent they put on the floor and Gasol is a big part of that. He deserved to get paid and would have had teams lining up to pay him 100 mil+ if he has chosen to go elsewhere.
