d-grizzlyParticipantHello everybody. I did not quit forever.
You can probably tell by my name that I’m a grizzlies fan. I was happy to see them return back to the playoffs and go pretty far. I’m excited for the team to finally be healthy and hopefully keep everybody together. No, it isn’t necessary to trade Rudy Gay. Yes, they will keep Gasol.
This season was a bit shocking. First, I felt so bad for Dwight Howard. The pieces assembled around him won’t be enough to bring in a championship. The Bucks did not take a step foward, I figured they would. Okc, on paper, looked very scary to me after the trade, but Dallas pulled through. It was odd not seeing the Celtics or the heat as the number one seed in the east, so, hats off to the bulls. It was very odd to see the Lakers swept in the second round, who could see that coming? In no way am I putting the Mavericks down, but I did not expect some of the comebacks they’ve made in the playoffs this year.
Last, I can’t remember a year where the media was this bad. I can’t remember a year where the fans hated one team so much. Laker fans would beg to differ, but still, Miami is facing some real heat this year. The idea that they have "the biggest floppers" is becoming a joke. The NBA should penalize floppers because I notice it’s becoming a common thing among EVERY team. You can call Miami fans awful and present cases where they have been awful, but not all of them are bandwagon fans like a few people are making them out to be. When teams start winning, you will see those types of fans come out and route for them and talk massive sh*t to everyone. I saw a topic on here recently where someone decided to generalize a fan base out of anger. If you do a fact search, you will find that over the past three years that Miami has been in the top 10 attendence. So, all this talk of bandwagon fans and where were the Miami fans last year, or the year before should be put to rest. Besides, I’m sure there are bandwagon fans for every team that makes the playoffs.
If the point system is gone, it’s for the best. The idea of just voting someone down without challenging or responding is a bit ridiculous. Instead, people will be forced to explain their views and hopefuly show who they’re disagreeing with a whole new side they may not have seen before.
