valentineBeside Kobe, people forget to realize we may see many other legends hang it up this year, like:
Kevin Garnett
Paul Pierce
Tim Duncan
Vince Carter
Manu Ginobili
Dirk
Which do you think are a given, and which may still come back? Would this be the greatest group of players ever retiring together at once?

jabbar_medvedenkoParticipantYes. Too bad T-Mac and Yao had to retire early, true superstars.

RUDEBOY_Participantkobe has been playing well lately.unlike earlier in the season when we looked old .i think he’s finally healthy..hope he keeps up this up.
i think its time kg,pierce & carter hang it up.
duncan & dirk are still contributing to their teams.they might have another yr left in the tank.

Magic JordanParticipantI wish Kobe would go back to early season Kobe. Lakers need to lock up that 2nd slot. They need at least a coin flip for the lottery.

theEDGEParticipantI would love to see Kevin Garnett coach the Wolves next year, maybe with Sam Cassell as an assistant coach.

HitsterParticipantKG has a contract for next year and PP has one for another two seasons but I think KG may call time this year as he doesn’t play much these days.
Tim Duncan like KG turns 40 this year and I think he’d certainly retire if the Spurs did win the title again this year. Ginobli like Duncan can still contribute but like Duncan he may well finish if the Spurs do win.
Vince Carter has another year on his deal so will likely see that out.
Dirk is still an effective player and with his game could easily play another couple of years,

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantKg is under contract for one more year and will play next season likely in a very limited capacity. He is basically more like a coach who suits up for games at this point.
Carter is probably done after this season.
Pierce could probably go either way. I think it will depend on how he finishes out the season.
Dirk and Duncan are still very effective players and will almost certainly play at least one more season beyond this year.

SubZeroParticipantAlso if Duncan retires, Pop almost certainly does too so that’s (in my opinion) the greatest coach of all time leaving with the best PF and the 2nd best SG, 2 of the top 10 best players ever

ncballerIt may be a pipe dream, but I hope to see VC sitting on the UNC bench in some capacity within the next 5 years

HitsterParticipantI’d guess Tim Duncan and Manu would get roles with the Spurs after they finish if they wanted them. Ironically Manu is perhaps more likely to take on a coaching role IMO than Tim Duncan.
I had always wondered if Duncan and Gregg Poppovich might retire together or when Tim retires from playing maybe Gregg moves upstairs. But as Gregg has taken on Team USA job until 2020, I don’t think he intends to slow down any time soon.
