it’s a bad comparison, there’s nothing alike there, KG and Brandon Wright don’t have unibrows, how can you compare without unibrows.

For the record, I believe it is a best-case/worst-case comparison. Aran first brought it up here.

"Is he another KG, or closer to a Brandon Wright?"

The comparison I had when I sent in the profile was Kevin Garnett, but I didn’t think it was right to give such expectations to a high-school player in [Player: Anthony Davis]. Aran modified it and I stand by the new comparison.

Of course, that’s not to say it couldn’t be improved. The Yahoo Answer brings up a good point. How about this:

    Player Comparison: Bert/Frida Kahlo

The thing is, it is "Brandan Wright". But, I LOVE your second comparison, and if you wanted a basketball player to throw in their, Mehmet Okur is a solid choice. I do not know why people go so crazy over comparisons anyway, each player is different in their own way. I guess they want some model of how they play and what they can do, but my suggestion might be, "WATCH THEM PLAY". Not to mention, read the analysis. But, I think appearance is usually part of it, and in that case, your comparisons are right on. Another LeRoy Jenkins gem, though!

    I didn’t even catch that.

The Brandons/Brandens/Brandans of this world will be the death of me.

Freaking Mickael Pietrus was the former Warrior who to me ruined a pretty easy spelling of a name. Though, I guess Mikhail Gorbachev did the same thing. Of course right now everyone will say KG, as they have yet to see him play. Once he does average or anything less, that is when Brandan Wright will come up.

Hey, I thought Brandan Wright was going to be a steal. He was long and skinny, sure, but so was Chris Bosh, and he turned into a decent 6’11 left handed player. Brandan had a pretty solid freshman year at UNC, 14.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg and a couple blocks per game. He looked decent in his second year in the league until he got hurt. He has been injury prone, but he still has a little room to possibly turn it around, after all he will be only 24 at the hopeful start of next season.

Still, find it funny that people go with predictions of the best player possible, or worst player possible with very little wiggle room for someone probably being a cross between them. I think Davis looks like he will be better than Brandan Wright, but I could see how he somehow might be a cross between he and KG, which would still make him a very solid prospect. If he has a better freshman year than Wright did, he will be on a very strong path to being a solid player, but it was not like Brandan Wright did not show flashes of being one as well. So much depends on health and good fortune, I think people overlook that when talking about some of these players.

I dont get it either they make a big deal about how he was a gaurd for most of his life and then had a big growth spurt so he is like a giant gaurd with great perimeter skills then compare him to Brandon Wright who never had perimeter skills was a post player all the way and was never considered a SF like Davis is by some. They are built the same buts thats where the comparisons end.

That’s actually a pretty good comparison. Works better than Wright or Garnett in my opinion.
