deshawynkeys91ParticipantLong Lost Brothers…. The N.Y Knicks and the Toronto Maple Leafs. if your wondering what i’m talking about give me a second.. i say this b/c i live in toronto and know what it is like to have the “Mega City of a Sport” and the fans here believe that every big name free agent in hockey is going to come here.. A team that has not made the playoffs in some time.. and has fans filling up the building (brainwashed) no matter what product they have out there.. does that sound familiar Knicks fans?
and just to let u know PRAYING on free agents to turn a franchise around is not the best why to go about things its starts with drafting and developing talent (which the knicks have done a terrible job of doing) and finding solid talent throughout the league that u can pick off along with key free agent signings.

gatorheelsParticipantDude take a look at the free agent class of 2010 before u start talking out of your a$$. You act like their are only a couple good players. The Knicks aren’t praying I promise u. You act like everyteam in the league is going to have just as much money to spend as the Knicks. New York has a lot of money & will land very good free agents….get over it. You are just sick that your Raptors will never contend.

knicksfreakParticipantHahahahahahahahaha. Are you comparing the mapleleafs to the Knicks. First of all, who cares about hockey? Second of all, NO ONE WANTS TO LIVE IN CANADA. Its not about the teams or their historical significance. Its about the city itself. Toronto isnt on anybody’s wishlist pal.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 6:35am #180687

knicksfreakParticipantWhat is the name of the Raptor’s arena? The Knicks arena is call Madison Square Garden. You might have heard of it.

fastdanParticipantCanadian hockey players make up a huge portion of the NHL and Toronto is a beutiful city, so yeah, hockey players do want to play in Toronto. He’s not talking about the raptors, so I don’t know why you’re bringing them up.
You guys obviously don’t follow hockey at all, which is fine, but I don’t know why you have to slam this guy when you have no idea what you’re talking about. As a leafs fan I feel like I can relate to a knicks fan right now, in that I feel like players should want to come play for your team because of the history of the franchise and for the city. But in both situations there is a little talent to play around, and better options are found in other cities. That’s at least what has been happennig to the Leafs in the last couple of summers, what what I would guess is happening next summer
I hate to sound like the voice of doom, but with contracts like Curry and Jeffries still on the books, and with the cap lowering, it’s going to hard to lure 2 max players for the knicks. Especially with the fact there’s not a lot of talent to play with. If i was LBJ/Bosh/Amare I’d much rather go play in New Jersey because their future looks significantly better, not to mention they have more cap room.

fastdanParticipantI can see much worst case scenarios come 2010, one being the Knicks having an entire team of should be bench players. And if those lineups did go head to head, I would put my money on the raps, and I am by no means a raptors fan.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 6:55am #180700

gatorheelsParticipantDude I could care less about hockey.
I brought up the Raptors because that is deshawynkeys favorite team and he says that they have a brighter future than the Knicks.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 6:58am #180702

gatorheelsParticipantOnce Curry & Jefferies come off the books…guess what? time to add some more quality free agents
The lineups above are pretty even but the Knicks have way better depth which gives them the edge.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 7:00am #180691

gatorheelsParticipantAfter the 2010 free agent period this is what is going to happen:
Best case scenario lineup for the Raptors:
PG- Calderon/Jack/Banks
SG- DeRozan/Jack
SF- Hedo/?
PF- Bosh/Evans
C- Bargnan/?iWorst case scenario for the Knicks:
PG- Telfair/Douglas
SG- Joe Johnson/Chandler/Douglas
SF-Chandler/Gallinari
PF-Boozer/Hill/Bonner/Jefferies
C-Lee/Hill/Milicic/CurryWorst case….The Knicks might not be a title contender but they are better than the Raptors.

bbiirdman113Participantdont be so sure about getting quality free agents. Portland had 10mil of room and all they can get so far is a backup PF. New York is in a bigger market though but their team sucks so they could end up with not much.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 7:18am #180709

gatorheelsParticipantNot reallly….Portland couldn’t get Hedo but that was it. The Blazers aren’t trying that hard to sign the pieces they actually need. This free agent class isn’t as good as next years.

ricks17Participantgatorheels you got to smarten up, up until now i considered you the main guy on this site. your the one talking out of your a$$ on this topic. all the guy said was that the leafs and knicks are similar sorts franchises in the fast that they do a bad job of drafting and developing players, which is true. aswell as hoping for big name free agents to come to play for the team, which is also true. he never said nothing about money or being able to afford players, we all know the knicks are in the position to sign lebron, if it happens remains to be seen. he was just comparing both franchises, because the leafs are also in a position to sign big name free agents. the fact is if you get lebron or wade in the 2010 free agency than your not going to win the championship, and thats all that matters. who cares if there going to be better than the raptors. and as for knicksfreak who said no one wants to play in toronto, hedo wants to play in toronto, hes more established than any1 on the knicks roster. yes i live in canada, in vancouver. I’m a thunder fan, well supersonics but watever.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 9:43am #180788

Knicksboy34ParticipantHedo is a euro guy. Some Euro guy can play in Canada, not every American even wants to go to Canada
Also, this is the 2nd topic when this guy trashes the Knicks for no reason. He is probably a 2008 Celtics fan.
Knicks freak is right, NO AMERICAN BORN PLAYER IS DREAMING TO PLAY FOR TORONTO

ricks17Participanti understand that yes, i know it was a stupid topic to start comparing different teams in different sports, but you knicks fans over reacted, he was just tryin to point out how the knicks have done a bad job drafting and developing players.which no knick fan or basketball fan can deny. and yes i know they are dong a much better job now, and finally getting rid of all the $hit isaih thomas has caused and the fact is if they do get lebron or wade we’re going to see some great basketball in new your for a while.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 9:54am #180800

Knicksboy34ParticipantYou act as if, we still have Frank Layden and Isash Thomas are still there
Go Check Donnie Walsh’s track record…only mistake? Drafting John Bender
NY is a attractive City and NY will add some FA’s…case closed.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 9:55am #180801
bkballerParticipantI think the reason Knicks fans are reacting so aggressively to this guy is just yesterday he had another thread saying knicks will never sign anyone and will be last in the atlantic. Guy lives in Canada and continues to try to go after the Knicks daily for no reason. Possibly because his favorite player chris bosh would rather be on our team than his. I just don’t see the reason for a fan of a team that has never been relevant and never made it out of the second round, while winning one more game than the Knicks last year to repeatedly make threads about how awful the knicks are.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 10:02am #180803
ricks17Participanthow do i act as if Isaiah thomas is still there i blatantly said they are doing a mush better job now, and they are finally getting rid of all of isaiah thomas’s mistakes. you got to read the post before you respond. I agree that they are a promising young team, and if they get lebron they will win 2 or 3 championships in the next little while.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 10:09am #180808
ricks17Participantok will than if that is the case, where it is against that guy for another post against the knicks in two days than i understand why they are over reacting and angry against that guy, considering he is representing the raptors who have been a disappointment the past 4 or 5 years. i didnt see the post yesterday, but they shuldnt act as if the knicks have pulled in big name free agent one year after the next who have made a difference
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 10:11am #180809

sheltwon3ParticipantI will agree that it does appear that knicks fans are overreacting but the thing is this guys has history so he was going to get bashed. Don’t support someone you dont know very well. Also with the personell and people in charge for the Knicks they could possibly make the playoffs this year and definitely should make second round the following year if they can add a least one decent free agent. Curry will play better, Lee is in a contract year because he and nate will take the qualifying offer. Nate will probably be traded. Maybe for Andre Miller.

Knicksboy34ParticipantBut, It is targeting a team for no reason.

NYKnicksuperFanParticipantname me one big-name FA(not Hedo) that Toronto has ever brought in here are some of the Knicks-HOF Bill Bradley, Jerry Lucas, Bernard King, John Starks, Allen Houston,etc..etc.., you are just a depressed Raptor fan, even with Bosh you guys cant win do u actually think he’s gonna stay with you?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 10:57am #180849

Knicksboy34ParticipantBOsh is coming to NY in 2010!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 3:12pm #180997
deshawynkeys91ParticipantWow… how easy is it to get u knick fans on ur heels. Understand something i dont hate the knicks.. i couldn’t care less about them and just so u knick followers understand the point of being a nba team is to win a title… yes? so why would i care about a team that the team i follow (Raptors) beat up on all the time. i’m more concerned about catching up to the BETTER teams in the league. and just to let u know Gatorheel my favorite team is the LAKERS the team i grew up following.
and for u americans that dont know ur geography toronto is one of the biggest cities in the league as well as one of the best in attandance
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 3:16pm #180998

gatorheelsParticipantI’m not knocking Toronto…it is a great city
Oh if your a Lakers fan then I can’t say much ha.
Yeah I agree the point of an nba team is to win a title.0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 3:23pm #181000
deshawynkeys91Participantknickfreak… its ok to leave ur backyard once and awhile… its easy to tell that ur not well travelled if u think that no one wants to come to canada to live thats a uninformed statement. i understand that most of u americans are very proud of where u come from and there is nothing wrong with that but the truth is that once u leave u backyard and see what the WORLD has to offer u realize that some of ur opinions where off the mark. i’ve had the chance to speak with alot of american athletes about this very thing and most of them admit that they had canada(toronto) pegged wrong with most of them saying its like n.y(which i’m hoping is a compliment) with less ppl.

deshawynkeys91Participantwhat did i just read… did i just see someone say that in the knicks hall of fame JOHN STARKS AND ALLEN HOUSTON!! that is not good news sorry but those players were not much more than solid role players.. if thats the case i can do a Raptors hall of fame with alvin williams and dell curry.. hahaha
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/13/2009 - 3:34pm #181008
