The Scare Crow RisesParticipantReports Say its not the first fight Born Ready has been involved with in recent weeks
I think this spells trouble for Indiana and Lance in particular, IF he can’t put his ego aside For a team like the Pacers than I doubt he’d get the message if he were signed by another team…
What are your thoughts on the situation in Indiana. Would you even bother with Lance or Evan after this? keep in mind Turner and George are good friends and Lance may or may not even like the Pacer’s franchise player…

IndianaBasketballParticipantFirst it was rumors about George w/ women off the court. Second there were rumors about George and Hibbert being mad at each other about a girl. Then a huddle disagreement between Stephenson and Hill got blown up. Today it’s Stephenson and Hill fighting and Vogul coaching for his job.
All of this according to "sources" lol.
The Pacers just need to block this ish out and handle business. Winning solves problems.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s true, but this team still finished 56-26, which is good for best in the East and 4th in the entire league.
Vogel is a very good coach, the Pacers have very good players/guys on/off court and there’s a good thing still going on here.

HitsterParticipantESPN had a story that Frank Vogel was under pressure as Larry Bird is unhappy that they only finished the season 16-15 and now dropped first game to a below .500 8th seeding. The story reckoned that since Brian Shaw left the team had lost "the bad cop" and Vogel spent too long playing good cop. This seems strange as the Pacers have a very strong front office with Bird, Kevin Pritchard to support Frank Vogel and they also have Nate McMillan as an assistant who is a noted disciplinarian so I’d assume he takes on the Brian Shaw role.
We don’t know what cliques there are on that team and since Danny Grainger went they lost their longest serving player, I hope that the old Lance Stephenson is not returning after he had looked to have turned his career round so well with the Pacers. Hopefully the senior pros like David West can pull the team together behind Frank Vogel as the front office might be reluctant to interfere too much or maybe someone like wily old Donnie Walsh has a quiet word in a few ears to get people back in line.

RUDEBOY_Participantreports say vogel is fighting for his job..he might be let go if they lose to the lowly hawks who barely made the playoffs….but he’s proven he can coach,so even if he’s let go he’s bound to land some place else….
bird has to take most of the blame for this mess..he is the person making the decisions..he failed to bring in some outside shooters and a point guard..let hansbrough walk, tyler did alot of the little things that go unnotice….Bird’s known for bringing in volitale high tempered players, i guess its starting to blow up now…
Lance is playing for a big contract,Turner struggles playing off the ball and Hibbert looks tired and he’s struggling playing against the Hawks bigs who are great shooters which pulls him away from the basket..Pacers looked great last night when Hibbert was on the bench and they went small..Maybe Vogel will use that lineup more…….

phwillParticipantbut during their skid, I got the impression watching on LP that something was going on w/the team re:Lance. It seemed like they’d swing the ball away from him when he was open, contending with him on rebounds, etc. I may be making it up, but he seemed like the odd man out in comparison to the start of the season.

Magic JordanParticipantMy thinking is Lance is probably a knucklehead. But the Pacers chemistry was fine before they traded for Turner, in fact it was boarderline the best in the NBA. Evan Turner has got the rep for being a pre-madonna and pretty selfish. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Turner shows up and the team goes into a funk? I think they were used to dealing with one drama queen (Lance) and when they got another it started to become too much. They fought to see who would continue to be able to act like a 10 year old and Lance won in what appeared to be a cat fight.

hbomb3300ParticipantIf all these issues with Stephenson are true then the Turner/Granger trade makes a lot of sense from a GM perspective. They may let Stephenson walk and resign Turner if they think that will be better for team chemistry. I don’t think anyone is under the impression that Turner is more talented than Stephenson though…

tuck243ParticipantLance is the only guy on the Pacers with an edge and gives them consistent energy. Larry Bird loves this guy because of it. They need Lance and the temper that comes with him. George Hill is by far the softest player in the league. He’s scared sh*tless half the time and it’s no wonder Lance got into it with him vs. the Spurs has they were getting blown out… George Hill has been missing all year in stretches of games… I’m glad Lance said something to him because its been getting out of hand.
Roy has looked as if he crying every night, but if you look at his production he’s mainly the contributing to his own woes. You can’t go 1-5 and act like its everyone else’s fault. "People are selfish"… Interesting that come from Roy as they getting blown out and all of them seem to pack it in, but Lance and the second unit… I thought he was the front runner for DPOY beginning of the year, he has declined so much as far as effort… You can’t blame your effort on someone else… Sad day…
Evan has been clueless since being traded and I blame this on the coach. He doesn’t know his role and its very apparent when he’s on the court. Normally looking to pass or taking the ball one on one. IDK the reason behind the Lance and Turner beef. But you can’t expect to have great chemistry from players who both play the same position and looking for their next contract, can you? You playing survival of the fittest and Lance is winning…
Paul George… Has been anointed a superstar by damn near every media outlet beginning of the year. Including a lot of you guys… I always said you have to prove yourself for more than one season before you can throw the word "superstar" out there. Especially out there for a guy that haven’t averaged over 20+ points at any point of his career. You just can’t… It shows that it went to his head, dude started to go one on one a lot and took a ton of bad shots. He’s become a very selfish player at times and have been up and down in production this season…
I say all that to say this, Lance isn’t the cancer that it seems. He’s been the same person since he’s been in Indy… Everytime he’s been out on the floor this season he’s been their only consistent player. I’m talking defensively and offense. I watched a few games where it seemed like he was the only one that cared about winning the game. I just find it hard to blame a guy that’s going out and trying to win the game for his teams mishaps. Especially when I look at everyone else and they seem like they rather be sleep. Jordan punched teammates in practice for slacking and if you seen these Pacers over the last month, Lance should punch a few of em… Especially the 7’2 dude…

mixtape2003ParticipantDid anybody notice in game 2 after Lance made a couple of shots towards the end of the 3rd he was taking out of the game then, went to the end of the bench (pretty much in the tunnel) pouting? I think he is gone this offseason to a team were he would be the go to guy.

Rip255Adrian Woj is the biggest bull$hitter when it comes to NBA journalism. Sometimes he breaks news that is legit, other times (such as this) he demonstrates complete lack of respect for both the subjects involved in his stories and the readers and I’m convinced he stretches the truth for the sake of a good story.
At least Bill Simmons tells you when his far-fetched stories are conspiracy theories. I bet NBA players don’t even talk to Woj given his tendancy to write articles like this.

The Pacers deserve to have things blow up in their face this season after bringing in Andrew Bynum and giving him a nickel.
