jefriederParticipantThe word going around right now is that the Lakers are going to trade their pick for an established star, even if they get the 1st pick overall. That seems like a very LA thing to do.
So my question is, who would they want to recieve for such a high pick? Boogie Cousins? Melo? Or someone else??
With current news coming out that Ben Simmons wants to go to LA so he can get a good shoe deal, I say hell yeah trade that 1st overall pick if they get it. Simmons seems like hes not the most competive guy and thats not who I would want to build a franchise around.

It might not be 100% true, but rumors are always fun to think about

llperezyour link doesnt work for me, but all ive read is that they would look to see whats out there, especially if it falls to 3. Nothing about trading it no matter what, in fact there are reports that they really want ben simmons.

burgessfourParticipantthis written and find it interesting because there’s a huge difference between what you could get for the 1st or 3rd pick. The 1st pick may be a feature piece In a trade for a star while the 3rd pick would be a much smaller piece.

DukeDaSquadParticipantIf they get the 1st overalle pick, they should keep it. No one the could realistically get is worth the 1st overall pick/Ben Simmons.

Oryan99ParticipantI doubt they’d get value for #3. No one will want to trade a star for Bender or Murray

NBAjunkie81ParticipantIngram……… He’s a better fit w/ their young core & he’s a better fit w/ his outside shooting…… & He’s a fantastic defender on ball & off ball…….. Putting Ingram w/ Russell & Clarkson would be Lethal……..
& Ben Simmons is beginning to feel a little bit like a Prima Donna Nightmare…….
