XYRYXParticipantIt seems as if the big names aren’t still bound to there new or old teams but when exactly are the Lakers going to show some life? Aside from the Randle pick, which I liked very much btw, they just can’t wait until the big names like Melo or Bron have figured out where they want to be with teams like the Bulls, Suns, Cavs and Rockets all looking at the same players.
Do they really think it’s a good sign to potential new players that there is still no coach and no direction at all? If the rumors are true Gasol will sign elsewhere soon and they still did absolutely nothing.
Maybe they end up with Melo but I highly doubt that and what then? Kobe won’t be pleased at all with no significant moves.
Do you think there is a chance Lance, Parsons or Monroe end up in LA?

TRC1991ParticipantEverything right now is dependent upon the decisions of LeBron, Carmelo, Bosh and Wade – so it seems.
The next tier guys like Hayward, Parsons, Deng, Gasol, Monroe – all seem to be waiting on the chips to all

highflyer0ParticipantI completely agree with you. The Lakers need to make some moves very soon. They aren’t getting Melo. What they need to do is try to sign Monroe and Stephenson (Isaiah Thomas would be solid as well) so they can at least have some young talent. They have this dillusion that bigtime free agents will want to come to the Lakers just because of their brand but these days it’s about winning. I think they could have a solid chance at landing Durant or Westbrook after Kobe’s contract is up, but only if the team is talented enough to be appealing.

Magic JordanParticipantStephenson and Thomas maybe… if the price is right. I legitimately want nothing to do with Monroe though… I don’t understand the appeal… For one we would have to over pay him for Detroit to just let him go and anything more than 8 or 9 mil is too much for a player like Monroe who plays no defense and shoots an awful % for a big man. I agree with what you say about needing to put together a decent enough team to be able to lure a big free agent…. but Monroe is not enticing anybody.

laarethekingsParticipantFor the Lakers it’s about added big time talent. So it’s Melo and Bron and if not them I don’t think this team freaks out. We just had the worst season in LA ever and they still made the most money out of every team in the league. So the Lakers will not panic, If any team undetstands they need stars its LA.
