I can’t imagine the Lakers have much besides Clarkson and the #2 pick, which I don’t think will be enough, to get Sactown to budge…Will they be willing to part with Julius Randle?

Lakers don’t have enough to lure him, even if he was available.  As an aside, how is this even considered news? I’m sure 29 teams would like to trade for LeBron, but that doesn’t mean 29 articles should be written on the subject. Of course there are teams who want to trade for Cousins. Until something substantial transpires though…not really news.

The only was I see this happening is if the Lakers find another team and make this a 3 team trade because they simply just don’t have the pieces to make this trade straight up.

They write about it because it’s LA. Them and NY get a lot of posts on here.

If the Lakers offered the 2nd pick, J Randle, and Clarkson for Cousins the Kings would have to think about it.

Kings could grab Russell and WCS and head into next year with a line up of Russell/B-Mac/Gay/Randle/WCS. In a few years that team could be pretty good with Goerge Karl’s system.

The Lakers would be risking a lot, but if they could land Cousins and sign Rondo in FA. It would create for a drama filled year during Kobe’s retirement which could be tons of fun.

If I’m the lakers I’d throw just about anything to get Booige Cousins if he is even availble: Talks of a 3 way trade possiblilty with Orlando I see going something like this:

Lakers Get: Boogie Cousins and Ben Gordan (maybe another bad contract)

Sacremento Gets: Nicolas Vucevic, Lakers #2 selction, Jodran Clarkson, #34 Pick From Lakers

Orlando Gets: Nik Stauskas, Lakers #27 pick, Jordan Hill

I’m keeping Randle but every other player should be avaible.

Boogie is a superstar and is only 24, Imagine him next to Randle for the next decade.

     Thoughts?

The Magic get royally screwed in this trade. They give up their best offensive player and get back a bust SG who can’t create or defend, a late first round pick, and a below-average starting center.

Vucevuc averaged 14&11 thats not that great, he is a weak defender as well. He is still young but is not a top center by any means.

He actually averaged 19 and 11 this past season. He is definitely a top centre, sweet midrange stroke, good rebounder, solid ppst play.

its apparently an attempt for a 3 way trade, so there may be assets Orlando has the the Kings would take. I am hearing Vucevic’s name. Heres a random massive scenario, plu or minus salaries for matching..

Lakers give #2, Randle, Clarkson, late 1st Rd pick, get Boogie, Tobias Harris (S & T)

Magic give #5, Vucevic, Frye, Harris get #2, Randle, Stauskas, Jason Thompson, Lakers late 1st rd pick

Kings give Boogie, Stauskas, Thompson, get Vucevic, Frye, #5, Clarkson

Lakers sign who they can to play with Bryant, Harris, Cousins

Kings: Collison, McLemore, Gay, Vucevic #5, #6, (Hezonja & WCS?), Clarkson

Magic: Payton, Stauskas, Oladipo, Randle, Okafor, Gordon, #28

If we assume that T-Wolves take KAT then 2nd pick might be the highest pick that the Kings will get offered but if we consider that DMC still has 3 years left on his deal and what T-Wolves got for K-Love with one year remaining on his deal then the Kings have a fair while to wait to see what other offers they may get.

Hill, 2nd and 27th for DMC is a good starting basis for any potential trade but Kings may well want to move Rudy Gay too. If they go into total rebuild having him making $40 million over the next 3 years doesn’t make much sense for them.

Any deal could have a big knock on effect on the draft too, lets say the deal happens and the Kings fancied Russell at 2 and with a view to taking say Trey Lyles at 7 then that probably puts a spanner in the 76ers draft plans if Russell is off the board by when they pick.

how could kings justify it? It is not impossible, but i think lakers are dreamin…even if they sent young, randle and i don’t know who else; maybe lins expiring along with the 2nd so the kings could take a big, im not sure its even a remote possibility.

It’s kind of a weird idea. On the surface its easy to say the Kings aren’t getting enough because all of the talent is pretty much unproven.

With that said even though the Lakers would be getting far and away the best player… Why would they really make this trade?  It doesn’t put them in contention,  it uses some of their cap space… Just enough in fact that they couldn’t land another impact player that would move the needle.  We see what Cousins can do with a lackluster roster,  it would be no different in LA… 35 wins maybe?

Even though Cousins is the best player in this trade, as a Lakers fan I would rather have Clarkson, Randle Okafor and Max free agent money as opposed to Cousins and 16 mil in cap space.  The Lakers have basically no talent on their roster… They need to focus on accumulating more before they try to snag a player like Cousins.

Cousins is the best player… But definitely not the best move for the Lakers current situation.

Can be argued that Cousins is the best Center in the NBA.

I don’t see how they don’t get back at least 3 1st round picks or good young players for him.

#2 pick and Randle just is not enough.

The Lakers have a lot of cap room, the Kings have money spent on players who are not getting them to the playoffs, the trade could work.

Kings get Okafor, Lakers get Cousins and take on whatever contracts the Kings want to move, it lets the Kings start over and build around Okafor, the player they get at pick 6, players they can bring in with money to spend, and whichever shooting guard they choose to keep which would probably be McLemore.

As a Lakers fan I would not give up the number 2 and Randle, that would be asking for way too much. Look at the Kevin Love trade where all they were able to obtain was Andrew Wiggins and I guess you can say Anthony Bennett, even though he had bust written all over him from the start of his career. DeMarcus Cousins has been on the record plenty of times bashing the Kings organization, which is the only reason his name is being mentioned so much in trade rumors. Face it, he’s going to be the next superstar to be moved and if the Kings can get Vucevic, Randle and Clarkson as well as say the Lakers #27 pick, they may even be improving the team. A starting lineup of Collison, Clarkson, Rudy Gay, Julius Randle and Nic Vucevic with the number 27 pick turning into a player like Justin Anderson would not be a young exciting nucleus of players to begin a rebuild with.

Magic want a younger team.   Nikola Vucevic  ( 25yrs, by no means NBA old) for Okaford (19yrs and on a rockie scale price). Lakers want a All Star Like cousins.Kings don’t Like cousins but know he has vaule , they would take multiple pieces. Laker still want a high draft pick so it would cost then Randle. If Randle  is included  in a trade Nick Young would have to be also  to make more cap space for a power foward for the Lakers..

Magic 2# pick Okaford, # 27 pick from Lakers,Nick young

    Kings , Nikola Vucevic, Randle

Lakers, Cousins , # 5 windslow (from magic)

this seems possible but,,, Vlade Divac is in charge in sac…. and I bet he is still mad that he got traded from the Lakers.

but this would be a nice trade 4 all if it COULD happen.
