Such a mess… and a testament to the fact that it should be the coaches who should run most of the stuff, at least that regarding the team members, who what etc.

Those who put together this crap are to be banned for life. So disfunctional it hurts. Anybody really thought Westbrook would mesh well with Lebron and AD? Putting together the rest of the bunch with washed up players that weren’t that good even in their prime?? Ok, at least they still have THT, got Monk .. but the rest is sad as shit.
As they won’t turn it around even when AD returns (sooooo sad seeing a 7foot force playing Porzingis like basketball, settling for shots…) here’s my 50 cents on what to do.

1st – tell AD he’ll play center even if “he does not feel like doing it”. To hell with feelings, you do what’s best for the team. You play center, rebound, protect the rim, set picks on offense and roll hard to the basket. For 35 mio $ you’ll do that. Whoever the coach is, do your job, put his ass close to the basket.

2nd – Trade Westbrook for Simmons. Yes, add a player that can’t score shit. But you add a 6’10 who plays defense, something no Laker does. Make him your PF and see what happens on offense. You have Lebron as point forward… add Monk, THT, wait for Nunn to get back.

Now you have two young players to run behind those younger guys on opposing teams and have 3 bigs that can switch everything.
On offense you have 3 bigs that can play inside and outside, Simmons who’s defacto a playmaker being guarded by a PF, you have a constant mismatch every time down the floor.
Yes, the shooting is poor with Simmons on the floor but which PF can guard him once the Lakers get the ball and he starts running?

The Lakers get Simmons and Green (who can sit in the corner and hit the occasiona 3), 76ers get Westbrook (a PG they DON’T have) and an expiring contract (Bradley, Ellington… even Reaves if the 76rs really want young players). I don’t see the 76ers getting anything better than this if they want to win now. Forget them picks, they got Embiid in his prime, he does not have time for picks to develop. Clearly won’t get much out of Simmons either so… you’ll get your allstar player, a PG that is an upgrade over Simmons who’s not playing.

And yes – for LAL – fire everybody that had anything to do with putting together this crap.

Unfortunately for the Lakers, the Sixers don’t want Westbrick. They’re certainly not going to do the Lakers a favour by taking their trash and giving up a valuable asset. No, the Lakers are stuck with the mess of their own making. And if Vogel gets shafted for being unlucky enough to be lumped with this dumpster fire, then that is extremely unfair.

Lakers have rest of this season and next with Westbrook and LBJ so they may have to ride this time out but they would then have good cap space to rebuild around AD. If AD can stay sound then with LBJ there they can still be relevant.

Lakers are always a sought after destination so will always be in the mix for FAs too.
