The Clippers have a tough task ahead of them this offseason. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, JJ Redick and a handful of thier role players are UFA’s. With the way the season ended it doesnt look good for the Clippers. They may find themselves in a familar spot in the NBA’s totem pole, right at the bottom.

If they were to lose those players outright they would still be left with Deandre Jordan, Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers, Brice Johnson and Diamond Stone. Their 2017 1st rounder belomgs to Toronto and thier 2019 1st round has been traded but is protected 1-14.

The first thing they should do is completely restructure the team from a president, basketball operations, GM and assistant GM perspective. They should move on from Doc Rivers and find a coach thatwill actually look to play and develop young players.

Either way nbadraft.net fans should have fun watching this one. Could be a long rebuild.

The ironic part is Doc wanted out of Boston because he didn’t want a rebuild and now he could be facing one with the Clippers.  It’s going to be difficult to bring this group back going forward.  Plenty of options on other teams for Blake, Paul, and JJ.

I think Chris Paul had enough of this and will leave LAC. He’s only 31 years old and can sign his one last big contract elsewhere, a change of scenery should be nice for him; instead of playing alongside Luc Mbah a Moute and Deandre who has zero offense.

Clippers offense is difficult to watch at times when there are too many iso ball, no movement whatsoever.

my guess is that paul leaves. Blake stays and the team is borderline playoff caliber.

What about a CP3 sign and trade to the Knicks?

Knicks get a super star point guard to get Porzingas going. Would also make the Knicks a better free agent destination.

Clippers D Rose and Carmelo Anthony to form Showtime 2.0.

Rose, Reddick, Carmelo, Blake, and DeAndre might not be enough to get to the Finals but it should be fun to watch — kinda like a fast break soap opera.

Why the hell would CP3 wanna play for the Knicks. And what about D Rose + Melo vs CP3 makes the Clippers Showtime 2.0?

I’m just going to laugh if Paul and Griffin leave, leaving Jordan by himself after they begged and pleaded for him to not sign with Dallas.

If I were the Clippers I would go all out to resign Cp3, Reddick you could sign but I woun’t overpay for him and I’d let Blake walk. I would try to sign 3 and D type players at the SG/SF position like Otto Porter, KCP, James Johnson. They really need a stretch 4 who can shoot the 3 well to pair with DeAndre. Some free agents Pf Patrick patterson, Illyasova, Mirotic, Olynyk

I don’t think they have the cap space to do something like that.

It’s hard to know wjat the Clippers free agents will do, could they try to remain together and maybe take a bit less to keep them all intact or will one or more demand max money which will make the figures unsustainable.

There are question marks about Blake’s durability so I could see him pushing for a 5 year max and probably remaining in situ. He is only 28 so could chase a title further down the line, but with injury issues he may look to get on a legit contender ASAP.

Reddick turns 33 next month so this could well be his last big deal so may well want to maximize his value now. Despite being the oldest of the 3, he may decide to cash in now and go all in for a title in a few years time. Veteran shooters like him can play longer and always appeal to powerhouse teams.

CP3 turns 32 this week and could take a deal to become one of the very highest paid players in the league. Despite being into his 3o’s and with a lot of miles on the clock. CP3 remains one of the very top PGs and I’m sure will get a lot of interest in FA. He has already had some huge contracts so may well decide he’ll look for the best chance of winning now. He’ll still want to be paid well but may take a bit less than max if he could get onto the right team.

Jordan has a player option next summer so if the team is broken up then he can always weigh up options in FA.

If Doc was just the coach and the team did break up then I could perhaps see him looking for a new job if he didn’t want to be part of the rebuild. Or he might just want to take a bit of time away, he did talk about taking a year out once and is mid 50’s now so may want to take stock and recharge his batteries. But also being team president, if he walked away he’d leave a big hole and I think Doc the Coach is better than Doc the FO guy. So overseeing the rebuild and hiring a younger coach wouldn’t seem logical. Doc also has an all poerful role, future teams may not offer this. He has a couple of years left on his deal, so I see him seeing that out.

Latest rumor was Clippers sign and trading Redick and Rivers to the Knicks for Carmelo Anthony and Courtney Lee.

Does that mean Griffin is leaving?

No Blake would be more likely to STAY if they could keep all those guys.

If not… then Blake could go to the Lakers — they could build around him, the young guns, and their pick.

If Blake wants to go to a young, up and coming team then he should look at the T Wolves. He could play the 4 with KAT at the 5. They have a pass first point guard in Ricky Rubio. A couple of high scoring, high octane wings in Wiggins and LaVine. Plus, they have a good pick…

If he doesn’t do those things, or to OKC, or to the Knicks, then he might go to the Heat with some other guys to try and form a super team.

You know what? Miami is a good fit for a lot of those guys. With Whiteside inside, Blake at power forward, Carmelo at the 3, CP3 at point with James Johnson, Dragic, and some other guys off the bench (and at the 2). And they have a pretty good pick, too (or a GREAT pick if they get lucky on draft night).

    BLOW IT TO SHREDS!

Seriously. What’s the point of getting to the playoffs every year if we aren’t getting past the first round? The first step is to FIRE DOC. IMMEDIATELY. WHY THE HELL DID YOU GIVE HIM GM POWER IN THE FIRST PLACE?! ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME?!

I love Chris Paul, but he deserves to fight for a championship. Blake Griffin would probably do better with a change of scenary too. Either way, having Paul, Griffin and Jordan on the books only gives the option to fill up the rest of the team with a bunch of "Doc Guys" on vets minimums like Mo Speights, Raymond Felton, Paul Pierce etc. We can’t sign free agents, Doc doesn’t believe in developing young players (except his son of course) rendering the draft completely useless (other than to trade players for cash to sign more doc guys), and the NBA and its annoying bandwagonning fans hate us.

We’ve taken this team as far as we can… Time to start over. It starts with FIRING F***ING DOC RIVERS.
