high floorParticipantLet me start by saying I really like both of these guys. If you were building a squad, and also if you were gearing up for a playoff run this season, which player gives you the most confidence to lead their respective team? Everything can be taken into consideration (i.e statistics, age, injury history, team performance, playoff experience, skill-set) you name it. Yes, Toronto plays in the watered down EC which helps it’s chances for a deeper playoff run, but things are looking up in the East & it should be more competitive within a couple years. Lowry is 28, and Bledsoe will turn 25 in December.
Season Overview:
Kyle Lowry (2013-2014) – 17.9ppg, 4.7rpg, 7.4apg, 42.3fg%, 81.3ft%, 38%3pt,1.5stl
Eric Bledsoe (2013-2014) –17.7ppg, 4.7rpg, 5.5apg, 47.7fg%, 78ft%, 35.7%3pt, 1.6stlIndividual Season Highlights & Key Points:
Kyle Lowry
*Team finished with 48-34 record.
*Season high 36pts against Brooklyn in the 1strd
*2.43PTM per game last season, top 10 in the league
*3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio
*Tenacious on-ball defenderEric Bledsoe
*Team finished with identical 48-34 record
*Team was 28-15 with Eric Bledsoe in the lineup
*Season high 30pts twice against POR & SA in April as team was fighting for playoff spot
*Averaged 23pts, 5.6reb, 6apg, .8blks, 2.2stls in April
*4 multi-block performances highlighting his versatility on the defensive endBoth players represent injury risks as Lowry missed 35 games in 2011-12, and 14 games in 2012-2013. Bledsoe missed 39 games in his first full season with starters minutes. But for some perspective almost all of the tier 1 and tier 2 point guards (Mike Conley & Damien Lillard are notable exceptions) have had nagging or season ending injuries within the past 3 seasons.
Both players stuff the stat sheet and are putting the league on notice. K-Low and Bledsoe are PIT BULLS on defense, and I would be pretty surprised if 1 or both are not first time All Star selections this season.

prophetmeirParticipantIll go with eric, kyle is a pit bull on d but cannot really guard 2 guards the way eric can. Eric wing spand and age also make him more intringuing and he is also much quicker and I think better on d

theprophetParticipantbledsoe and it’s not close because of his ceiling. bledsoe could become close to what damian lillard already is someday. lowry’s good, but he is what he is. also, to open a bigger can of worms and perhaps get slammed for it, jose calderone started over lowry just a couple years ago. lowry hasn’t changed his game all that much. bledsoe is still coming!

MattP31ParticipantTough call for me. Yes Bledsoe is younger and way more upside, but Lowry has proven he can lead a team into the playoffs in a key role. He also did so without fellow ball handler Dragic- something we haven’t seen from Bledsoe(we haven’t had a chance to either). Lowry’s toughness is also something I’m a big fan of. If you are looking to try to build a team around I think you go Bledsoe because of youth and upside, but if you want to find a guy that will help you win this year I think it’s Lowry. That said it’s still pretty close

OhCanada-ParticipantLowry is a proven leader and has a better contract.
Bledsoe has the most upside and explosive abillity.
Its apples and oranges but if Im a team like the 76ers I would go with Bledsoe.

mowestenParticipantOscar the Grouch thinks the East is garbage. Half the teams are tanking and most of the other half is stinking.
And that’s where Kyle Lowry plays.

DolanCareParticipantI’d go with Lowry. But it’s a tough call, could go either way. Lowry is a legitimate PG and can run a team. It’s not like the Raptors are garbage, they are a good team that will be even better this season.
Bledsoe is more of a matchup nightmare. If i’m the opposing coach, Bledsoe makes me sweat just because their are few people that can chase him around the court. Moreover, there are few people that can get around Bledsoe as well. But Bledsoe isn’t someone that can run the offense, he’s just not that dude. So if I’m running a team, I’d rather have the leader than the X-factor.
