IndianaBasketballParticipanthttp://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11688088/kevin-durant-oklahoma-city-thunder-fractured-foot
He could be out until Dec. Obviously this will hurt the Thunder in the short run, but as long as he doesn’t rush back and has no setbacks, they should be good in the long.
I’m interested to see how the Thunder/Russell Westbrook will do without him. I expect Serge Ibaka to get way more touches too.
Over/under 30 points for Westbrook in Durant’s absense?

IndianaBasketballParticipantDamn Rudeboy… I haven’t seen a triple post in a long time lmao.
I’ve got him for over 30 points, but on 40% shooting.

llperezim gonna go with under but real close like 28ppg. Its gonna be an opportunity for westbrook to show he can be the franshise piece and i dont think he will allow himself to be too inneficient, he will want to get teammates involved, or so i think.

lalailaParticipantthere is no doubt Westbrook will play his 110% and in both good and bad way, and his stats might be LeBron-like
but the most important thing about him is that we will finally see how important for his team he really is, how valuable he really is.. will his winning mentality carry this team and show that early quit in 2013 playoffs without him wasn’t fluke? Or will his inefficiency hurt them?
..and offcourse, recocer fast KD! NBA need you badly!

HitsterParticipantA blow to the Thunder but not as devestating as if it had happened near play off time and with the season still a couple of weeks away then Durant might only miss a month of the regular season. I’d guess the Thunder might be a bit cautious with him but they can ease him back into rotation and build his minutes back up gradually.
Westbrook being the focal point will certainly be interesting to watch. 30ppg might be a bit of a reach in an over/under bet across every game but on certain ones it looks good value. Give me 27/28ppg and I’d certainly consider having money on it.

XYRYXParticipantNooooo
Thats really bad news. Hopefully it won’t have any long term issues going on aside from the very tough time without him for this team.
Seems like the Thunder finally need to find ways when their star players are injured which wasn’t rally the case until Westbrook got hurt and the fact that the Thunder have absolutely no servicable SF backup for years won’t help them too.
Who will start at the 3???

ExumInfernoParticipantThunder fans should look at this as a way for some other players to get a big role, which could improve them and make them better players for the playoffs. Ibaka, Jones, Lamb, it will be interesting to see what they can do with more shots and more minutes.
S Adams, if they can get the ball inside to him a lot more, it might open it up for their shooters and there could also be some big dunks.
Westbrook unleashed for a couple of months, could be fun to watch.

TallmanNYCParticipantNBAWowy does on and off court stats. It pulls up 78 minutes last season with Westbrook on and Durrant off the court. Seems like a very short number of minutes. Anyway, Westbrook was a beast in those minutes. 45% ussage and 56% TS%. Ridiculous numbers, even Jordan-like.
I also ran numbers for 2012. Almost exactly the same (55 TS% and 45% Usage) but this time over 249 minutes. Scary.
Might have to take Westbrook really early in fantasy drafts.
