With the Harrison twins decision to come back next year it has some people already speculating them being ranked preseason #1 and continuing their sucess from their tourney run. While I think they will be good I don’t see them being a top 5 team next season. The reasons being they will have lost arguably their 2 best players from last season, Randle and Young and that people are overrating the Harrison twins right now. Yes the twins had a great postseason run but they were mediocre for most of the regular season. (Andrew Harrison only shot 36% on the season) I don’t see any stars on next year’s team like they had with Randle and while most of them will have one or two years of college under their belt they won’t be as experienced as teams like Wisconsin, Arizona, UNC, Virginia etc.

Aaron Harrison had a good year last year, its Andrew who had the struggles during the year. he’s showed flashses and no doubt a better option than Tyler ullis.

Also, why did you bring up experience?  when they were Freshmen, they eliminated Wichia st, Louisville, Michigan, and Wisconsin. All teams people label as " experienced’ and ‘ battle tested’

yes they lost Randle and Young, but they have Lyles and Towns coming in to try to fill that role. i dont think the lost of James Young effects them much. he played horrible defense, made countless low IQ mistakes, and took too many bad shots.

that team should be the preseason #1 and favorites to win it all. they have Mcdonalds All Amercians everywhere( 9). their bench is a starting lineup for most schools. their size and talent on the front court is rare.

    haters going to hate…

to think that harrison twins and poythress aren’t going to improve in the offseason and be better in their soph/jr years is pretty ridiculous.  ulis, booker and derek willis are reasons that they will have to improve.  calipari is going to put the best players on the court.  hence poythress being on the bench this year.

and that frontline..lee, cauley-stein, johnson, lyles, towns jr.  coach cal can let them play as aggressive as they want.  that’s 25 fouls to give from legit rim protectors.

Of course they’ll be great. My question is: who becomes the go to guy with Randle gone?

Randle was mainly getting his from rebounds after that and only a few post touches, Dakari was getting more plays run through him and Randle was being the decoy.

They return three of their five starters from last year, and they will deeper then they have ever been under Calipari. To say that they will only be good is laughable.

It’s laughable to say that a team that was merely good for most of the season this year that lost its 2 best players will only be good next year?
