Well first of all tickets were expensive even for bad seats ha.  Here is sort of a brief report of what I saw:

Bledsoe is really good.  Very strong & his quickness is above average for an SEC caliber guard.  He had some crazy blocks.  For a short guard he can get up and he isn’t afraid of physical contact.  He finishes well after contact.  He ran the offense pretty effectively considering he is a freshman and this being the first game and all.

Dodson looked to be the teams’ best shooter in the preseason from 3 point but he didn’t shoot that well this game.  He isn’t shy though and he has a pretty quick release.  He should be a solid contributor on offense throughout the year. He can score in a variety of ways, mainly off midrange jumpers & 3 pointers though.

Patterson looked like he usually does.  Overall he is just solid.

Orton didn’t do anything spectacular.  He did have one impressive block that I saw.  In SEC play he may struggle a bit.  He isn’t really a threat on offense but on defense he is solid.

Miller played ok but I was expecting a lot more.  Rumor had it that he had really improved over the summer.  I didn’t see any drastic change & I didn’t see it in preseason either.  He needs to be more aggressive.  Looks like he just doesn’t have enough confidence.

Cousins is huge.  He was pretty good.  Didn’t look as good as he did in preseason though.  He still needs to be more assertive.  He had the ability to really dominate this game if he wanted too.  Him & Patterson form a very solid duo in the post.

Overall Kentucky didn’t look as good as I was expecting.  The two pre-season games I watched they looked awesome.  Maybe Wall really is a difference maker.  He played in the preseason but not in this game vs. Morehead.

I certainly wish John Wall could’ve played in this game.  It would’ve been more entertaining for sure.

If Kentucky is going to have a legit chance to win it all then they have to improve their shooting. They didn’t shoot good this game from both 3 point range and the free throw line. They have the length & athleticism & depth to make a serious run but shooting woes could hurt them. They could afford to shoot poor in this game but once SEC play starts, missing some free throws or shooting bricks from long range could cost them a handful of close games.  Then again Kentucky plays well above average defense which will allow them to win some close games.  It is hard to score against this team because the Wildcats have so much length at each position.  Should be a good rebounding team too.

I know this was just one game but I have a hard time believing now that Kentucky could beat Kansas.  By the end of the year though things could change as the chemistry develops and the young guys mature more.  Should be an exciting season.

     If only Meeks would’ve stayed…wow

I’m ready for the Kentucky vs. North Carolina game & the Kentucky vs. UConn game.  Wall & Bledsoe vs. Dyson & Kemba Walker will be fun too watch.  Plus then you have Ed Davis & Thompson vs. Patterson & Cousins.

I just got back home today…so I didn’t know if anybody talked about this game on here or not.  I figured a few people watched the game on tv. Yeah Patterson is definitely the #1 option in the post.

Damn, they should have cut the ticket price in half without Wall. Hey Gatorheels do you know what section in an NBA game is considered “good” seats. Also one last thing, your kicking my ass right now in fantasy.

What section is considered good seats?  What exactly do you mean by that? haha depends on where you want to sit.  The closer you can get to the floor is better lol.  Yeah I am kicking you right now in fantasy, my team had a good week I guess.

Without Wall the tickets should’ve been cheaper…I agree.  I paid $50 a ticket for the nosebleed section.

I think Wall is going to play well when he comes back.

mike- Sections in the 200’s normally arent that great.  Depends on the arena though.  All courts are different.  If you can get something towards the front of the 200’s you should be able to see fine.

John Wall will be dominant when he comes back. And Cousins will play good and him and Patterson will combine for one of the top 3 frontlines in basketball. That was an interesting write-up though, and Dodson has emerged as the designated shooter for the team. And Bledsoe will be a guy to seriously watch out for in 2010-2011 as a top 10 pick. Talk about a strong guard, goodness gracious.

i think wall might or probably do those things..doubt cousins will he just doesnt have that fire and wall playing isnt gonna bring that fire in him only he can decide that..i had this same convo with people when d.jordan was in college..i like uncs front line better with zeller davis and thompson

I don’t. Cousins and Patterson is the better frontline than UNC’s to me. And add in Orton’s defensive presence (he could develop into a paint-patrolman similar to Kendrick Perkins) and you have a great frontline that’s one of the top 3 only behind Georgia Tech’s to me.

we can say that but i dont think they will prove to be..so far ed and zeller looks alot better then cousins and orton and they are continuing to look good each game..and thompson has just been doing his thing

I expect Kentucky to beat North Carolina when they play.  In the post it is a pretty even matchup.  Both teams have a lot of big bodies.  Kentucky has the better guards though which will be the difference in the game.

i agree they should beat them..i think they should beat them by a nice margin too because unc back court is lacking although ginyard could step up and give unc a chance
