Isaac Humphries is on an official visit at Kentucky, and reports suggest he is going to reclassify to 2015 and join Skal and Jamal Murray at Kentucky.

I got a lot of heat for comparing Humphries to Marc Gasol (ceiling) and Chris Kaman (floor)…but he’s a future pro regardless.

Its worth mentioning that hes very very young.  He might be more likely to stay 2 or 3 years and sit a lot of his freshman year.

    Thoughts?

He would complement Skal really well.  He can be a load down low while Skal can spread the floor.  That would be a huge pick up for Kentucky if he could reclassify to join the 2015 class.

     To confirm.

Humphries is just 17, so is eligible to play for Kentucky next season but not eligible to declare for the draft until 2017.

Kaman as a floor? Come on  man Kaman was one of the best centers in the league briefly. Anyways, you might as well pencil kentucky as a #1 seed for March madness if he were to come. My buddy though is convinced he’s going to New Mexico.

      Humphries isn’t your average recruit.

Was best player at the entire tournament at FIBA U17…despite being 12 mths younger.

Hes a bigtime NBA prospect. This is Kentucky we are talking about after all.

All of their big-men are lottery picks these days.

I know what you mean, but still, Carlos Arroyo was a beast a couple Olympics ago, looked like the best player despite all these NBA superstars. when players get to the NBA its a whole new animal.

I know my man Calipari can get him to be a top 10 pick, but still anything can happen. Players still need to put in the work and develop. Isaac still has a lot of work to be anywhere as good as Kaman was.

Very unlikely as he is born in 1998 and is 24 months younger than Okafor. I think he can have a similar impact in his mandatory sophomore season…he’s not eligible to be ‘one-and-done’ due to NBA age limit.

He is also 24 months younger than Skal Labissiere, who should get most of the minutes at the 5 spot next season.

Humphries is more of an investment for the 2016/2017 season but I’d imagine he’d get spot minutes in the second unit.

His U17 averages were 19ppg, 12rpg, 3.3bpg, 58% fg, 83% ft. Was 1st in the tournament in efficiency, at 25.6. He led Australia to a Silver medal and nearly toppled the United States team in the Gold Medal game.

Diamond Stone was the other star big-man from the tournament (12 mths older).

He played a handful of HS games after coming to the States, but not enough to establish anything solid to scout him on.
