BasterdInABasketParticipantRemember these were all high-level players in college (besides Calderon), now with years of pro experience. UK is a great college team but even a group of 19-20 year old All-Americans would have a tough time against pros.. I say NY would win 9/10 times as bad of NBA roster they have.

kazamParticipantKentucky couldn’t deal with the physicality of those guys. In addition, Kentucky has next to no one, excluding maybe maybe Devin Booker, who can consistently hit an NBA three. The lanes to drive would be clogged and the pressure that Kentucky puts on other teams wouldnt be nearly the same vs seasoned NBA players.

juves4783Participantdoubtful…kentucky averages 75 ppg. that won’t win against any nba team and that’s not even considering the change in 3 point length.

NCarmean18ParticipantThese college-NBA team comparisons are getting a little out of hand. I do not care about the size and potential that Kentucky has. The New York Knicks basketball team are filled with grown men with years of experience playing basketball against grown men. The Kentucky Wildcats play against teenagers and young adults, many of which will never sniff the NBA.
I understand that Kentucky is a very talented college team and the New York Knicks are an awful NBA squad, but if these two teams were to play in a best-of-seven series, I would pick the Knicks in four, and at the most five games. No college team would ever be able to compete with the physicality of an NBA squad, and that’s just common basketball knowledge.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantKentucky is the top college team in the country because they have the best collection of college players this season. Any NBA team, even the terrible Knicks and Sixers, have a roster full of guys who were award-winning players on, for the most part, teams of comparable stature to this year’s Kentucky for that given season. This is also when they were younger, less physically developed, and less experienced players while having had less exposure to better coaching. Shane Larkin was an absolute star in college less than two full years ago. Tim Hardaway played in the national title game less than two years ago. Cole Aldrich was the All-fill in the blank team and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year on a 33-3 Kansas team. A good case can be made that when Wichita State played Kentucky last March that Cleanthony Early was the best player on the court, and at that very point and time the best player of the bunch. Quincy Acy was an accomplished workhorse power forward at Baylor.
Kentucky is a good college team, and nothing should be taken away from them, but the gap is huge.

TimeForNineParticipantKentucky fan here and I have to disagree with you.
Jason Smith- double-double guy at Colorado State
Cole Aldrich- defensive anchor for a couple of great Kansas teams
Tim Hardaway, Jr.- best perimeter scorer on a national runner up team
Shane Larkin- one of the best PG’s in the nation his sophomore year, lead the U to one of its best years in school history
All of that, and Jose Calderon is probably the best player of the bunch. I don’t see Kentucky winning that one.
