Celtics3178Participantthe grizz are going no where fast and the cavs need to do whatever possible to keep Lebron. The grizz have the 4 pick and are going to get a great building block with that pick. They also have 2 great players in Gasol and Conley. The cavs can offer the 8 pick Thompson and expiring deals for Conley and Gasol.
lebron gets a legit supporting cast Lebron Conley Gasol and Love would tough for teams to match up with. Lebron finally gets a center who can enforce the paint and he can come from the weak side and block everything. On Offense Lebron can play off ball and Gasol and Love are two of the best passing bigs in the game.
The grizz have a legit chance st a rebuild. They get a stud with the 4 and good player with the 8. If they could get any of the two of the 4 bamba doncic mp or Jackson they are in good shape for a rebuild. Maybe the worst team in the league next year but that’s a good thing in a rebuild. I think Jackson bamba could be a lethal 4 and 5 in the future.

negguaryParticipantgreat for cavs, even with their age still fits LeBron a window of about three super strong years but unfortunately the grizz are delusional where their owner believes they can win 50 games and refuses to rebuild!

gforce03ParticipantHell, let’s do a trade the other way around. Rebuild the Cavs, trade KLove for Parsons+#4, let LBJ walks, that way Memphis has a chance to get to 50 win + Cavs gets to pick #4 and #8
WIN WIN

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI really like those players around Lebron.

publius2481ParticipantThe only expiring contract Cleveland had is Larry Nance (who Cleveland probably wants to keep). Even including Thompson’s contract, they need about 30 million more in matching salary, so Memphis would have to take two of JR, Hill, or Clarkson. That is a lot of salary clogging your cap for at least 2 years and Memphis would probably want more than the 8th pick for their two best players and to take on salary.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantGeorge Hill is only $1M guaranteed in ’19-’20 and JR Smith is a partial guarantee too. It could be done, but I agree Memphis would probably want more to save face for moving their 2 best guys.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantThis works for both sides.
You maximize the window for Lebron to contend.
You get more high I.Q players to play with Lebron
and
The Grizzlies get to go younger with Tristan and the Pick which will help speed up there rebuild if they hit on both the four pick and the 8 pick.
The only thing I would is I could see the Grizzlies trying to include Parsons and that bad deal somehow lol

dmo21ParticipantI think adding Clarkson and Korver would offset Parsons contract enough to make that happen.

IndianaBasketballParticipant“On offense LeBron can play w/o the ball . . .” Haha
I like this trade though. Conley is rehabbing/training back in Indiana right now & he’ll be 100% to start next season. When healthy, he is one of the better two way point guards in the league & plays the game the right way.

The GoatParticipantY’all on crack if you think theyd move Conley and Gasol for the number 8 pick and Tristan fxcking Thompson. Absolutely not happening. The Griz will be in the second round of the playoffs next year with Conley, Evans, Gasol and either Doncic or Porter selected with the number 4 pick. Mark it down and rain the negs.

negguaryParticipantis he second round the goal, especially when you paying championship money for your roster? Whose on crack again? No need to offend my man it’s just sports talk bra!

HitsterParticipantI was thinking about Hill and 8th for Parsons and 4th.
The Cavs get into the mix of the top prospects, the Grizz save a load of money on Parsons contract in 2019/20 too.
But Gasol for Hill and 8th also works for me.
The Cavs get a top C and stay win now. They have K-Love and Gasol in frontcourt which gives them size advantage against a lot of teams.
Grizz end up with 4th and 8th plus Hill’s deal so can rebuild around that.

cominup7ParticipantIts a good idea on paper, but like others have said there’s no way the Grizz can spin this trade to their fanbase in a positive light. Trading two of the best players in franchise history for Tristan Thompson, filler and the #8 pick is not nearly enough for a top 10 center and a top 10 PG.
The Grizz are not completely dead in the water as a team as some people make them out to be, if they can resign Tyreke and nail their #4 pick they’ll be back in the playoffs next year, and thats probably enough for their ownership to be satisfied.
The only way MEM does this is if CLE also gives up future unprotected picks, a la the Nets-Celtics trade from a few yrs ago
