SkalAndJamalParticipant1. Advanced stats geeks! Steph Curry/Draymond Green pick and roll. How many Pts per possession does this team get when Curry and Green work P&R? I feel like it’s got to be AT LEAST 1.5 points. It has to be ranked near the top 5 of all time too.
2. Syracuse: I guess you can never count a great coach like Boeheim. But man this team has been sneaky good. Michael Gbinije is quite the complete basketball player, I really like him as a future role player in the NBA. Looks like a protypical player the Warriors would draft with a late first round. Tyler Lydon, Malachi Richardson look like those two will just keep getting better the rest of the season and make the team better.
3. Speaking of Boeheim, who is East mount rushmore of college coaches(focusing more on the east)
I would go Coach K, Bob Knight, Adolph Rupp, and Dean Smith
4. What about the west?
Jerry Tarkanian, John Wooden, Lute Olson, Guy Lewis.

SkalAndJamalParticipantI almost forgot
#5. Right after Kobe won his 5th NBA championship all the Lakers greats said he was the greatest Laker ever, and I definitley remember a lot of fans were on the same wagon too. These greats include Magic, Shaq, and Jerry West. Now It’s a rarity to see Kobe ahead of Magic on an all-time list. What’s up with that? I do get that people just want to see him fail and him not winning anything since 2010 definitley brings some of you joy, but I dont see how who you can discount a person’s career by the way they ended it. People get old and people get worse, that’s life.

ScarTissue98Participantsimilar to Jordan…. People don’t realize that players like Bird, Isaiah, Magic & Kobe and many more were forced into retirement or diminished roles at 32 & beyond….. When Kobe’s Lakers won in 2010, we all though tthere was more to come…. no knock on Kobe – his body betrayed him….
So no one is punishing Kobe, I know I’m not… Magic’s career was so transcendent right from the start that many, many people rate Magic as the best of all time…. People forget that it had been YEARS since the Lakers made the Finals in 1980….. & w/ Kareem injured in game 5 & everyone figuring the Sixers would take over…. 18 y/o Rookie Magic Johnson plays Center & scores 42 points, grabs 14 rebounds & dishes 7 assists while hitting 14 /14 clutch FT’s as an 18 y/o in Game 6 & leads L.A. to their first Ring in almost a decade….
& then when you think about the Rivalry w/ Bird & the Celtics….. Think about this Magic Led the Lakers to the Finals in 9 of his 12 seasons & won 5 Championships against some of the Greatest teams in History: Bird’s Celtics, Dr. J’s Sixers, Isaiah’s Pistons & Jordan’s Bulls…..
Think about this – Before Magic the Lakers had not been to the Finals since they split back to back to Finals w/ the Knicks in 1972 & 1973…. From Magic’s Rookie Season in 79/80 thru 12 years up to the 90/91 Year when Jordan won his forst Ring against Magic’s Lakers…. Magic led the Lakers to 9 Finals in 12 years…. & retired at 31! At 31 Jordan had 3 Rings in # Finals appearances – wrap your mind around that…..
So this is no knock on Kobe – He’s right there w/ Magic but what Magic accomplished against the Very best competition (before expansion) just can’t ignored….
