marcusfizer21ParticipantJosh Smith is the youngest player in NBA history to block 900 shots.
The 23-year-old Smith, in his sixth season with the Atlanta Hawks, passed Shaquille O’Neal as the youngest to reach the milestone when he rejected a shot by Washington’s Gilbert Arenas with about 4:30 remaining in Friday night’s game.
The block set up a fast break, capped by Smith’s left-handed dunk.
O’Neal was 24 years old when he reached 900 blocks. Smith’s 24th birthday is Dec. 5.

What makes this special is that you’re talking about a guy who hasn’t even reached his peak who has already stored 900 blocks PLUS the fact that he’s not a center… It proves that Josh Smith is real ad that his athleticism is out-of-this-world… To be drafted at 17 in 2004 was a steal and I thought that the Hawks should have taken him at 6 instead of Josh Childress… But hey, things worked out for the Hawks anyway… Kudos to J-Smoove, he simply has grown to be a player that he needs to be… As you noticed, he doesn’t seem to attempt those horrible 3’s anymore and focused more on his inside game that has done wonders for the Hawks and for Josh…

gcb3ParticipantI totally agree.
But about a week or so ago I made a post here about how Josh Smith could make the All-star game this year–everyone emphatically disagreed and went on to bash the kid. Losers…They will see.
I don’t think people understand how talented and how YOUNG this guy is. There are rookies his age.

marcusfizer21ParticipantThe one thing that bothers me the most is that for all those sick chasedown blocks, steals, in your face blocks and rebounding prowess… Josh has never made an All-Defensive team…

JNixonParticipantHe is a poor on-ball defender, but even those types get All-Defensive recognition when they make spectacular off-ball plays. So far he’s looking like he’s possibly ready to take a big step from borderline All-Star to All-Star player. He was spectacular against Washington yesterday and against the Pacers as well on opening night.
