Does he have anything in the tank for a winner?

He’s up there in age but he can still shoot, he’s a crafty and smart passer. He will be the first true PG the Warriors have had in a while. I doubt he plays much but he will hit the open guys for 3’s and rack up some easy dimes.

He showed he can still shoot. Still not been bought out by Lakers officially yet though. Same thing happened with Hibbett last. I’d expect it goes through, but it’s not a 100% guarantee yet. But if so, he will definitely be a good backup for them.

He’s a veteran that won’t really play much as they have great backcourt depth but if he’s called upon he’ll do a job for the minutes he plays. He has the experience to help them close out games and reduce the big guns workload before and during play offs.

He’ll get minutes depending on how athletic the opposing backcourt is. The Warriors could get away with playing spot minutes against the Spurs, meanwhile, he’ll struggle to see the floor if they’re playing the Thunder.

This is likely his last season in the NBA and he probably would like nothing more than to close his career out with a championship. He can’t defend or beat anyone off the dribble anymore but he is still an experienced player and dangerous outside shooter who won’t get rattled. I doubt he will have much of an impact or see the floor much but you never know. I think back to Steve Kerr coming off the bench to hit clutch three’s to close out Dallas in 2003 WCF after barely playing the entire season.

Classy move by the Lakers to buy him out and let him try to close out his career on a winning note.
