D-League owner sets stakes for 1-on-1
Associated Press
LEHI, Utah — The owner of the Utah Jazz’s NBA Development League team wants to see Michael Jordan go 1-on-1 against Bryon Russell one more time.
Brandt Andersen is offering a $100,000 donation to the charity of the winner’s choice if he can get Jordan and Russell to play a game of 21.
Jordan’s jumper over Russell in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA finals gave the Chicago Bulls a 4-2 series win over Utah. Jazz fans still insist Jordan pushed off Russell.
During Jordan’s Hall of Fame speech, he said he was motivated by Russell’s trash talk toward him during his first retirement.
Andersen says he has spoken to Russell and left a message for Jordan through a mutual friend. Andersen’s suggestion: Jordan vs. Russell during halftime of the Utah Flash’s home opener.

llperezI think Jordan the competitior might step up and take this, but Russell has been working hard to try and make a comeback for a few years now, so he is probably in really good shape. If it went down, it should be done at the all-star game or something, not some D-league halftime show.

MagikKnickParticipantYeah, if Jordan and Russel agree, the NBA should get involved…it’d be GREAT publicity
Remember when Chuck Barley challenged the Referee to a race? It should be something like that..but this’ll be 20x bigger

llperezpoor Dick Bavetta. He was running so hard and Barkley teased him by running backwards at the end. He looked like he really took it serious.

Chicago1980ParticipantJordan would kill russell its not even a contest and like the dude said jordan has nothing to gain from it so he wouldnt do it anyway. I saw on utube jordan in pants killing this dude hitting fade away jumpers easily in shorts it would be a wrap for russell.
