Like I said, Oubre > Porter. But if Oubre plays well enough, I could see the Wizards trading Beal if Durant is coming.

Wall, Oubre, Durant, with Porter coming off the bench?

"According to the Washington Post, Oubre could be the next Otto Porter while potentially being better than his teammate. Porter likely does not want to hear this considering his contract is filled with team options for the rest of his time in Washington. Wall noted that Oubre’s confidence will allow to make an immediate impact for the Wizards which is what they need after losing Pierce.

"Well, that’s what you need…These young guys are coming in more confident now," Wall said, via Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post. "I think he’s going to be great for us…think he’s somebody like Otto but probably more athletic and able to move. Otto is more methodical, moving at his own pace."

"With the Wizards uncertain about their commitment towards Porter, Oubre’s rise will be a headline to watch this upcoming year. He could have a big impact on what Washington does in the coming offseason. Bradley Beal will also impact that plan as he is eligible for a new contract with the Wizards. According to CSN Washington, the Wizards are trying to lock down Beal this offseason instead of next year in order to help with the chase of Durant. Beal is expected to command a max contract which the Wizards will likely be forced to give out, but might not feel good about the idea. Beal has missed an extensive amount of time due to injuries. When healthy, he creates one of the more dynamic backcourts, but with the Wizards aiming to get Durant, they will be careful with the deal to Beal."

They have to lock him up or be prepared for several teams to swoop in and steal him next summer…

He and Westbrook would be a good duo if the Thunder get nervous and deal Durant at the deadline…

I can’t really read either teams brain though, the Thunder have to try to keep him and Westbrook as long as possible, and The Wizards are likely to just extend Beal as soon as possible and figure out the rest later

Oubre and Porter make for a solid duo at SF, and I like the idea of Porter playing a lot of PF down the line, sort of like how the Warrior’s play with Barnes and Green…

Either way, it’s going to be fun following them this year, but the OP is crazy if he thinks this post validates any idea that Oubre is better than Porter right now simply because he’s irrationally confident in his abilities… Porter is better than Kelly O right now bottom line…

Washington is kidding themselves. They saw Lebron go home but he was drafted by the Cavs and w played their in high school Durant left the area already once to play for Texas and then has been in OKC so basically the same area longer their playing hoops than in his hometown area.

I’m not gonna pretend I have an idea what Durant will do, but I could certainly see the argument for him to go to Washington. Wall isn’t as good as Westbrook, but his game would compliment durants much better imo. Plus the path to get to the finals is much easier in the eastern conference. Not only would he be playing in his hometown, but he would be the unquestioned star player and leader of the team instead of sharing the spotlight with Westbrook. Washington has a good young core and would be neck and neck with Cleveland in the east for the foreseeable future. I think a lot will depend on how this season goes for okc. Another disappointing finish and I think there’s a very good chance he goes elsewhere.

KD won’t leave OKC. Simply because he knows he’s got a much better team, and a much better shot at winning it all, than Washington will ever have. Washington is stuck with Wall. A good, but a dumb player who’s never gonna take’em past the second round.

Beal is solid though, and Washington only ace if they hope to attract real value to this team. If they trade him, they are more dead that than the Sixers.

Oubre is a long shot right now, as Porter already showed he belongs in the league.

Washington should be a perennial harmless playoffs team for years to come.

You honestly just called John Wall dumb…..wow. Never mind the fact that he was 2nd in the league in assists and widely known as one of the best floor generals and game managers we have in the league. If he was healthy against the Hawks, they would’ve made it to the ECF and given the Cavs a run for their money, so let’s not act like he’s the problem with that team.

Washington will surely look to tie up Brad Beal this summer, they can take a fairly relaxed view on him as they could match any offer next summer for him. If the salary cap does hit $85 plus million next summer then the Wizards would have room to make a play for Durant and keep key players intact.

Personally I feel OKC are a stronger roster around Durant than Washington could offer and there could be other bigger market teams in for Durant too. The Wizards can make a good pitch for him but it doesn’t look a compelling move to me.

It would be a luxury for Durant to come home, but the Wizards have Wall and Beal, who have a good shot at becoming one of, if not the top backcourt in the league, if they can stay healthy. Otto Porter is going to turn into a good player in my opinion. I don’t think he’ll ever be an all-star, but I think he’ll be good. I know Otto will never be close to Durant in terms of pure talent, but having him makes not getting Durant a necessity. I’ve always thought the weakness of the Wizards was it’s frontcourt. Gortat is a good player, but not an all-star talent. I still believe Nene needs to go. He is making way too much money for how he played in the playoffs last year. He was absolutely terrible at times. In my opinion, if the Wizards can get a decent big man to pair with Gortat, upgrade their bench a little bit, then they can contend in the east with Wall and Beal. Durant would be a major luxury to have, but I doubt he comes home.

anybody else on the roster worth a mention, when talking about the future of the back court?
