    That is way too much money for way too long, but without Joe Johnson the Hawks would be terrible long-term once again. They need him. They are still a very good team and should be for the next few years.

    Now, how do they fix their attendance problems?

    they overpaid big time….thats not even a decent contract

    look at this:

    joe johnson: 6 yrs/119 mil (19.83/year)

    09-10 stats: 21.3 ppg, 4.9 apg, 4.6 rpg, 46% FG, 1.1 spg

    paul pierce: 4 yrs/61 mil (15.25/year)

    09-10 stats: 18.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.1 apg, 47% FG, 1.2 spg

    is 2.9 ppg, 0.2 rpg, and 1.8 apg really worth 4 million extra especially for a guy who choked in the playoffs?
