moneymanvicParticipantWhere do you rank him in the EC as far as point guards? After missing the entire playoffs last year I think he is showing he belongs in the convo with the tops guards in the east.
His playoff stats 0.505 fg 0.419 3pt 0.865 ft 4.7 ast 21.1ppg 1.3 to…….I think he is right behind Rondo and Rose in no order he is better than Mo Williams and Devin Harris and with him playing how he is I see a LA orlando rematch with jameer making the difference helping orlando win..0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/10/2010 - 3:15pm #310529
The8thDeadlySinParticipantI like Nelson because he is a guy that everyone doubted but he is riding Howard. I hate saying that because I like him but he is. He gets alot of open shots and lots of assist simply because of Howard. I like Rondo, Rose, Harris ahead of him but Harris is only slightly above him.

IndianaBasketballParticipantNelson’s legit. He destroyed Raymond Felton in the first round. I just don’t like him though. Maybe because he’s small and is somewhat of a liability on defense.
IF I had to choose, I’d take Rondo, Rose, Harris and even Jennings over him. Let’s not forget about Arenas either.

JNixonParticipantNelson has always been a talented scorer from the PG spot, but he’s also never been an true PG who can create for guys at a truly high level. He’s brought his A-game in the playoffs, but I don’t get the feel that he’s playing off Dwight Howard all that much. He’s carried the load when Howard has been out with foul trouble. Howard is a presence, but Nelson can score that ball very well, Howard or not.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantEveryone in the NBA is great. Everyone has the ability to step up and play great for a period of time. A few good games deserve some mention but they cant define your career. Nelson is good but not more than a top 4-5 point guard in the East.

IndianaBasketballParticipantYea… Nelson has always been a very good scorer. Remember when he tore it up at St. Joe’s? I’ve just never liked him too much. I’ve always felt like he had tunnel vision.

BiggysmallsParticipantHe’s been fabulous in teh playoffs and it will be interesting to see who the Magic get in the 2nd round because if they get Cleveland…Nelson will do the same kind of things Rondo is doing to Mo Williams…He wont completely dominate, but in terms of the way he plays…offensively he might be better at scoring than Rondo. The Magic are going to be awefully tough to beat. They are just rolling and hitting on all cyliders…they have the best ball movement of anybody I’ve seen in the playoffs.

sacphil_08ParticipantJameer is definitely one of the better point guards in the east. I think it goes rondo, rose, Nelson, Harris, Jennings. Nelson has been playing at an all star level in the playoffs. Also Nelson is definitely capable of creating at a high level. His assists don’t show it because Orlando drives and kicks so much that at the end of the play vince Carter might get the assist. Also have you seen how he’s been playing? All elite pgs do this; they get by their man and into the paint looking to pass while the defense is looking to deter him since he’s in the paint. He’ll get in the paint wait for the defense to react and the he kicks it and it begins the amazing ball movement we’ve been seeing. It’s what Nash has always done it’s what it’s what Kidd, dwill, Paul and all the other elite pgs do. Rondo also does it. My point is that we are witnessing Nelson be a pure point guard at a high level so I disagree with mr 6000
