I know it’s early in the season, but look at these.

    Squeezed past Dallas
    Somehow lost to Phoenix
Played poorly, but won against Atlanta
    Destroyed by Houston
    Lost to the Pelicans

Still too early.  But you never know.  All I know is that it will be sad when/if these guys fall off.  Have been following them for the past decade and pretty much grown accustomed to their role as a contender year in and year out.

Those guys will be out of the league in time to come, nothing regrettable…

Maybe. But probably not. Remember it was Kawahi who was Finals MVP. He is still young and getting better, not falling off. Now he has been hurt, so maybe that is effecting his play. Duncan and Parker seem as good as ever. Manu is getting worse, but he has been falling off for years now. And he plays fairly limited minutes already.

The West is even stronger than last year though. It is going to take 50 wins to make the playoffs. And if you look at that schedule, all of those teams are either pretty good, or in the case of Houston, great. Compare to who the Nets have played:

    Celtics

    Detroit

    Thunder(less)

    Wolves

    Knicks

    Today – Orlando

Now that is a weak schedule.

I watched the Spurs almost close out the Pelicans playing Corey Joseph and Aron Baynes instead of Tony Parker and Tim Duncan.

They’re just too good. No Splitter. No Mills. Leonard isn’t 100% healthy. The Spurs will be right there when it’s time.
