 South Carolina did not close the regular season strong at all and there were legitimate questions about whether they even worthy of being in the tourney. They haven’t won an NCAA tournament game since the 70s. Very few people thought they would last past the opening weekend and now they are in the final 4. 

Sindarius thornwell is having one of the best tournament runs in recent memory ( probably the best since kemba in 2011). The makeup of this team is actually very similar to uconn in 2011. They rely heavily on one superstar player, play great defense, and have unheralded role players that are stepping up at the right time. 

I’m not saying I necessarily believe they will beat gonzaga but I’d be more than a little worried if I were the zags. South Carolina is basically playing with house money right now and all the pressure will be on gonzaga. They have more confidence and momentum than any team in the country right now.

 I think South Carolina’s Cinderella-like run will end on Saturday against Gonzaga.  They’re much better offensively, and they’ve turned into an elite defensive team this year.

Agree with the UConn reference. Thornwell is Kemba while Dozier is his Jeremy Lamb.
