5 time All-Star Reggie Miller is among the players Eligible for the 2011 Hall of Fame class
Miller played 18 seasons with the Pacers.
Miller was drafted 11th in the 1987 draft..He was 1 of 3 Reggie’s that went in the 1st round that year..
Reggie Williams of Georgetown was labeled the best of the 3 and cant miss star..But he turned into a bust..
Reggie Lewis drafted 22nd by the Celtics made the 1992 All-Star team…He died the following year after suffering a sudden cardiac attack..
Reggie Miller was projected to be a late 1st round or 2nd round pick..Scouts were turned off by his immature on the court antics ..Fans in Indiana booed when his name was called..They were disappointed becuz they wanted local New Castle native & Indiana star Steve Alford ..
Miller became a fan favorite during the 1990’s playoffs..Scoring 25 points in a 1994 playoff game against the Knicks ..Then again in 1995 scoring 8 points in 8.9 sconds to lead the Pacers to a victory over the Knicks

not sure what is the seperation of a first ballot as opposed to a hof’er non first ballot. But reggie will probably get in based on his career as a whole. There was never any one season where i thought he was amazing, but he was very consistent, maybe the best shooter in the league during his time and holds the all time 3 point record.

no question. Lot of guys are fringe, Reggie Miller isn’t. over 25,000 points. Nobody who has scored over 20,000 points in the NBA isn’t in except for Artis Gilmore, and over half of his points came in the ABA.

The all time leading 3 point shooter in the game, for 1 more year till Ray Ray breaks it, is getting into the hall.

who else is eligible? it depends on who he is going up against. but i would guess that reggie makes it first ballot, the best 3pt shooter ever and clutch, i think he gets it but its not obvious like jordan or malone.

He had a great career and spent it all with one team. He had a couple of opportunities to leave the Pacers, but was loyal.

He had a great career and spent it all with one team. He had a couple of opportunities to leave the Pacers, but was loyal.

He’s one of the greatest shooters ever and was also a clutch player. The Pacers were a very good team for majority of his career and we’re legit championship contenders a few years.

Maybe it’s me but…I feel Reggie Miller was always overrated a bit.

He did have the 8 points, 9 seconds moment but he had some terrible game 7’s under the book. He was a #2 option or even #3 option on a title team at best. He couldn’t defend and he actually had great talent around him ( unlike Ray Allen until 2008) If Jordan never retired and Reggie Lewis never tragic passed, Reggie would have never had those moments. Reggie could not guard Jordan and he couldn’t touch Reggie Lewis. He was never a top 10 player in the NBA at any point and a 5 time all star when the SG/SF position was somewhat weak.

Overall, is he a HOF? Yes. But 1st ballot? I don’t think so.

mr knick, i agree with all that for the most part. BUt he was an average defender, not really weak. ANd you think a lot higher of reggie lewis then i do. Lewis was gonna be good, but he was nothing too special. Id take miller over lewis assuming lewis had been able to have a long career.
