Is Jrue Holliday just as good as Kyrie?… I say yes, which is no knock on Irving at all as I feel Holliday will be a top 10 PG over the next decade. I just see a lot of similarities in their game style wise, except I think Kyrie is a better shooter and leader while Holliday is the better defender.

Holiday is definitely better as of now. Irving will have his shot in Cleveland though, to change that.

I think Jrue is more althetically gifted and has a slight height advantage.. You can’t really compare a NBA player to a college player entering the Nba thats apples to oranges..  But I have to go with Kyrie having more potential since he will be the no. 1 pick.

IMO Holliday could become the best defensive PG in the NBA.

Holiday is better in every facet of the game then kyrie. Jrue can shoot the questions about his offense stem from his ucla days. People need to realize the uclas and the kansas dont do guards justice they are slow it down throw it in the post offenses. Jrue could shoot in high school and in pros. Lets not forget he lead the 76ers to playoffs as leading scorer or second leading scorer. The real player who should be compared to holiday is selby because hes athleric can shoot and im sure he could play point if given oppurtunity. Selbys problem was he was a one and done player playing for a coach who trys to make sure he doesnt have one and dones. Irving will be good but not what people expect from number one.

Hard to say, but I do think one day Irving will be better than Holiday. Time will tell. And btw, some advice for Kyrie: Over the next few years, PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY!!

I don’t mean as of right at this moment, but long term. If I had to rank PG’s a couple yrs from now, I see them being ranked side by side behind these PG’s ONLY: John Wall, Derrick Rose, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Stephen Curry… then would come Irving and Holliday.

Is Kryie Irving ever going to be as good as Jrue Holliday is what the question should have been.

I have watched almost every single Sixers game in Jrue’s short career.  He has proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be an above average starter for any team in the league.  My biggest question with him right now is whether or not he is going to take that next step into the John Wall, Russ Westbrook, etc. echelon.  Honestly, after watching his game grow under Coach Collins, I feel like he really can, and his play in the postseason proved it.  Sooo glad the Sixers took him instead of Lawson, Collison, Maynor, or Teague.  Credit to Ed Stefanski on that one.

I never seen anyone compare a NBA player to a soon to be rookie. It’s usually the other way around.

You can’t compare jrue holiday to a rookie. Irving isn’t for the moment is NBA, but yes, Holiday is better than Irving for the moment.

Holiday is sneaky athletic, he is very versatile and has a bit of CP3 in hisgame that we may learn to appreciate more in time. He is still one of the youngest players in the league and people forget that. Philly has a keeper at PG. I would much rther have Holiday.

Holiday has no clue how to create. I think Irving is a PG. I think Holiday is a guy who can play some PG, but can’t create well enough to ever be a top 10 PG in the NBA. I might be wrong, but I am not sold on Holiday and his consistency like some of you are. I think Irving will be way better overall, and yes Holiday will be better than him in a few areas. Not the one’s that count at PG though.

Holiday is developing in a way Kyrie should aspire to.  And are we so sure Holiday isn’t a top ten pg now?  I struggle to name ten better (in no order: Paul, Rose, Westbrook, Curry, Nash, Deron, Rondo, Chauncey, Parker)… you could make a serious case that Holiday is #10 right now.

I think the best way to figure it out is compare the two as college freshmen(and thats hard because of the offense that UCLA runs). As far as just as good, we won’t now that untill Kyrie plays a game. He could come in and have a instant impact or he could come in and have a very hard time

I think Jrue Holiday could be a all star point guard. Why compare he and Kyrie? I don’t really see the similar games there to be honest.

Is it just me, or does it feel like Josh Selby is this year’s Jrue Holiday. Holiday was extremely touted out of high school, so was Selby. Both did not do so well in college, and were one and done. Both are still considered extremely talented, but slide to around the 20th pick. I hope Holiday llives up to his potential, same with Selby. But what if Selby fell to the Thunder, Mavs, Bulls, Heat or  Spurs. Niether of those teams need a point, but getting top ten talent after winning the Championship or coming darn near close to it, that is sweet.

And if I am the Mavs, I trade up past Houston to take Selby. Kidd is done within 2-3 years, or this  year if there is a lockout, and Terry is getting older, and Barea may or may not be that starter to replace Kidd, same with Beaubois. They really dont have a position to fill, so I say they take the best talent avalible. And if Cuban ever wants to do a sign and trade to get a superstar (ala Chris Pual, Dwight, D will) than he can offerr Beubois, Selby, Butler, for that superstar)
