Is it still too early to say these teams are still bad( clippers suck)?  You think they are gonna turn it around and string together a bunch of wins?  Is the excuse " knicks tryna adjust to a new system" valid?  Other players didn’t have trouble adjusting in phx. In truth better players adjust to systems. Plus you don’t have to adjust to a system to play defense. Clippers defense seems to be even worst and as much as I like gordan and Blake there stats are hallow because it doesn’t produce wins ( it does produce a win though)  they obviously need a go to guy because they don’t have one. If they did they would have more than one win. Knicks need more production from there bench, consistancy. And needs Amare to start rebounding like David lee used to. It’s not all his fault because he’s putting up good numbers.  And how long will the coming off injury excuse continue for Randolph.  Alot of guys come off the injury he had yet they produce more.   I said it last year and I’ll say it again. The knicks need a new coach Another thing is Blake griffin needs to demand the ball more. He has the ability to be there first option and gordan his guard side kick because that will open up more open looks for gordan and the other guards. Inside out is the way to go not outside in.

I said early in the season, the Clippers are going to suck..  I got so many negatives for it.

Think of it this way, atleast they can fill the hole at Small Forward in the draft, Harrison Barnes, Perry Jones, Terrence Jones, even Kris Joseph

U can’t fully blame the owner   How many different players have the clippers had yet they still don’t win. Different players and coaches

I think a lot of being a successful franchise is developing a winning culture. Even if you don’t have great teams, you need to hire coaches who are committed to defense and show that as an organization you are committed to winning. The Clippers have not done that.

The thing is, nobody expects the Clippers to ever be successful, their fanbase is M.I.A., they have no home court advantage, and the owner seems to hire the worst combination of GMs and coaches.  He’s not a basketball guy, he’s a business man.

If he really loved basketball, he would relocate the team to Las Vegas, Seattle, or somewhere in Washington.  They need to move to a place that will give them their own fans and they can start their own history.  The reason the Lakers are succuessful is because they have the right mindset, a caring owner, the right coaching staff, loyal fans, and most of all.. expectations.  The Lakers have been great for decades, everybody expects them to be great.  The Clippers have no expecations, nobody expects anything from them, thus making them less motivated to reach their goals.

The Knicks…I dunno. There pieces have to gel more. If they are still playing this bad within 5-15 games, I’ll say they suck

I wonder if the Clippers would opt for a true PG in the Rose, Westbrook, Wall mold before another SF. Also is Bledsoe trying to prove he is a PG by passing up shots and forcing things? I think he  needs to just be the scoring gaurd he was in college.

The Clippers future looks bright but their present is terrible.  Bledsoe could eventually help this team along with Gordon, Blake, and now Aminu.  They are young and with time, they can be scary because of their athleticism.  Knicks are not that far away, they have been in all game but 2 going down to the wire.  Their young players like Douglas and Fields have played outstand with Douglas currently in a slump but Fields on fire.  Gallo is just now playing somewhat decent.  Amare is starting to get a better feel of his teammates.  Felton is getting more assists.  D’antoni actually has too many guys than he is used to and is trying to figure out how to use them like Bill Walkers needs more minutes.

Being in games don’t mean anything. The same as being close. Losing is losing ifs it by 20 or 1. They will probably lose alot more close ones. That’s what happens when u don’t have a closer.

People have been saying the clippers future look bright for decades.

The Clippers might lose 70. They are starting three rookies and the other two starters are 21 and 22. Someone out there might see that as cause for optimism for the future, but they are being coached by Vinny Del Negro so they aren’t getting very much coaching.

At least we all know that it couldn’t happen to an owner who deserves it any more.

Del Negro is not that bad of a coach he got the Bulls to turn it around and now he actually has a point guard who is young but has a lot of the same athletic ability as Rose to some degree in Bledsoe.  Also it is still early, I remember people were knocking the Bulls when they started off slow and then they turned it around.  Also if you base your thought on the early season Cleveland would be close to as good as Miami.  I say this give it at least 20 games.  20 games in most teams are clicking but still trying to fine tune stuff.  Early on team are still trying to figure each other out especially if they have a lot of new pieces or a new coach.  Teams that keep the same people and coach tend to start off pretty good because of already great chemistry.

Chris Kaman is injured and Blake Griffin isn’t ready to be a go-to player, so going inside out consistently really isn’t an option for the Clippers right now.

Griffin is very limited in the post. He’s not even the best low post option on the team… Craig Smith is. Griffin isn’t ready to be a first option. Baron Davis being injured sucks because he was expected to create easy opportunities for Griffin.

Well outside in obviously isn’t the way to go. There record proves that so it’s time to make a change. Blake is good enough to be a first option because every time they have gone to him alot while he’s been aggressive on offense he produces.  Pretty much no one is a legit first option on that team but Blake has the best future as a first option compared to the back court

No matter who’s healthy the clippers still stink

Really disappointed in the Clippers. I thought they could compete to be a .500 ball club this year. They have an established guy at 4 of their 5 starting positions but Baron Davis showed up out of shape(AGAIN) and there is no doubt he is the key. Gordon, Griffin, and Kaman are all productive guys but there is something to be said for having that veteran presence to teach these young players how to win. I’m already trying to figure out who they should draft this coming year lol. Kyrie Irving??

The Clippers have have an potentially elite young talent at PF in Blake Griffin and good tyoung talent to back him up in Eric Bledsoe, Aminu and Eric Gordon but with their on court leader Baron Davis and their most experienced big man Chris Kaman out then the team will struggle more than usual. So giving minutes to the youngsters whilst it may be hard on them could increase their NBA readiness much quicker and when Davis or Kaman returns the team might start to improve.

The Clippers are in this high draft pick, lottery cycle that Seattle/Oklahoma were in from 2005 to 2009, Memphis were in for many seasons, the T-Wolves are still in and Atlanta were in up to 2007/08. Breaking this can be hard and often it comes suddenly, don’t forget that Oklahoma started 2008/09 with a 3-29 run before finishing the season 20-30 to end up 23-59. Whilst this was still a bad season and they ended up 3rd in the lottery, during the 2nd half of thiat season they began to get some wins and were edging towards .500 before they had a breakout season last year.

Maybe the Clippers would do as well trying to do what Oklahoma did, move the big earners get cap space, take on a few contracts for draft picks and let the young core develop. Moving Davis could be an issue but they could surely get an expiring deal for Chris Kaman and a pick or young piece thrown in.

The Knicks also have a very young roster and have 3 NBA rookies and another 5 guys still on rookie deals in their roster I believe. No one expected Landry Fields to become an NBA starter any time soon and for someone who wasn’t even on any major draft radar before draft day this is a major achivement. Gallinari had a good 2nd season and if he progresses this year then NY have a good core going forward to support STAT. If Houston continue to struggle the draft swap this year may well not happen and they may still be able to add a decent young talent and could probably buy into the draft with their resources.

The key could well be getting Melo next year and if they miss out on him then it may be they have to target a few complimentary players instead to support STAT, Felton and Gallinari. The likes of AK47, Prince and Dalambert etc may not be the sort of big names the Garden faithful need but a couple of these type of players would not cripple the cap and would give nice complimentary role players to support STAT and provide a nice roster for another top player to join in due course. Also there are a few restricted FA’s next summer from the 2007 draft which NY could have a look at but I think they probably need veteran presence ab bit more.

Melo to the Clips??? That would be just lovely. There is a glaring hole at that 3 spot and whether Baron Davis is there or not it could work. If he is that might get him to actually focus and be in shape. But it seems like Melo’s desire to leave Denver is related to him wanting to be closer to the East Coast.

First- the coach is obviously not the problem. The clippers have been bad for centuries with a bunch of different coachs. The problem then is the same problem now.  The players. They just aren’t good enough as a team. It’s that simple. No matter how much you may like them the simple truth is they aren’t that good as a team. They have good individual talent just not Good enough when u put them all together. They aren’t the twolves, thunder. Or other teams who have done bad because the clippers have been bad wayyyyyyyy longer. They ate consistantly bad no matter what type of talent they get. They draft the wrong guys as far as winning as a team. They draft the right guys if you want good individual stats. No one seems to see that they just say ” oh they need a new coach, fans, owners, city,et”rarely does anyone say ” they need new players, players that fit together” they may not be as talented as this group individually but it doesn’t matter as long as they play well as a team. A go to star such as melo could probably help put up points but they still wouldn’t be able to stop anyone. Just like the team, the team defense stinks!  Ever since I’ve been watching basketball I hear ” well if we get this or that guy in the draft blah blah blah”. Trade and get vets is a good option but no one wants to be a clipper and I don’t Blame them. Don’t be suprised if Eric gordan decides to leave when his contract is up and Blake griffin( one or both to the lakers:) just like every other good talent they have ever had
