sheltwon3ParticipantWhy would you have the Clippers who have 3 Centers drafting another center not named Shaq or Oden or any center that would be a number one in this draft? All 3 of their centers they have now are better than Thabeet. I may be stretching that with Jordan but even he is of good quality once his Basketball IQ goes up.

Mr. BasketballParticipanti think they want thabeet top 3 and now think top 2… they refuse to put rubio for some reason.

sheltwon3ParticipantThat makes sense but no way Thabeet goes that high even in this draft. He is serviceable but he is not a team changer yet. None of those teams really need a center. You don’t take a center that early unless you really need one or he is a beast. Thabeet is nice but he aint no beast .

until23ParticipantThey could use Thabeet. Camby is about 36 yrs old. DeAndre is still unproven and they’ve been unhappy with Kaman cause last year was suppose to be his breakout season, which didn’t happen so they signed Camby. Maybe they could trade Chris. I like the Wiz getting Hill cause Jamison’s getting old and it would be right on time for Hill to start in a couple years when Jamison contract expires. They might not have considered team needs but things seem to fall in to place. You can’t say OKC couldn’t use Harden, don’t they have KD playing at the 2.
Everything except Ty to Bobcats they already have two PG and G.Monroe (has he even declared yet) to New Jersey cause he might not be any better than Yi. The Nets are looking for a tough guy at PF.

sheltwon3ParticipantWhen you say Defense it has to be more than shot blocking and also Kaman is better than Thabeet as a center prospect. Thabeet is unproven as well and Jordan has shown some promise. It would be a typical clippers pick though if they add another center. Thabeet was not strong enough in college to deal with physical players. I know he will original get stronger but that will take some time and at the 2 spot your upside has to be greater than Dalembert who he reminds many of. Harden could actually work for OKC but I believe they have greater needs.

dch1314ParticipantIt’s not all about Defense but Thabeet is a good player. He is not GREAT he will be good. His defense is GREAT and yall talking of Rubio and such but he is not proven aganist ‘real talent’ anyway. We will just have to see how things work out because Oden is not better than Thabeet is. I would draft Thabeet over Oden anyday and everyday.

usfballerParticipantKaman gets paid ALOT of money to be very average for a bad team with one of the cheapest owners in all of sports. So, swapping Thabeet’s rookie contract ($4-6mill) for Kaman’s ($11mil?) makes some sense. I also think the Clips are going to look to blow up their team and start all over which means the only things the really have would be Eric Gordon and Al Thornton….everyone else is on the market and likely to be dealt. Ricky Rubio is probably a lock to end up in LA if the draft order holds true but this is the organization who took Michael Olowokandi over Mike Bibby, Vince Carter, Antawn Jamison and Paul Pierce so a 7’3″ All American Center isn’t as big a stretch as it might seem.

sheltwon3ParticipantYou are right about the Clippers and their drafting bad but i will have to say this they are limited in who they can move especially since other teams will not just take anyone from off their team at those prices. Kaman will be hard to move now that some of the teams that wanted him have already made moves are have better option available to them. I believe Clipper go with Rubio or they package the pick with Kaman or someone else to another team to save money.
