I think if you take in every way you can score: jumpshot, 3pt, post up, driving, and FT, I would still put Kobe and Melo above him. Those two guys can score in every way effectively. Dirk can do it all as well. LeBron can score at will but his 3pt shooting and FT shooting is too streaky at times.

    I would have it:

    Kobe
    Melo
    Durant
    Dirk
    LeBron

You can give me flak for putting LeBron 5th but he does need to work on his 3pt and free throws.

I would say it is a toss up between him and Carmelo Anthony. Durant has a better 3 point shot, But Melo lives at the charity stripe. They both have great mid range shooting capabilities, both can score in the low post, though melo may be better there right now due to his experience and size.

I think Durant will claim that crown in the next year or two for sure, as his game further develops and expands. He is the complete package.

This is not a “Who is better in the Clutch argument” so whoever always gets confused and thinks that needs to be mentioned…dont mention it.

I absolutely love what Dan E boy said…And I agree to it almost completely. Lebron is an unmatched physical specimen.

I didnt think Kobe anymore only because he’s gettin older and is declining a bit. I had him at 3 personally. Chris Bosh deserves some consideration as well. Posts never get any love.

I was going to say Melo … but I think you do still need to put kobe there too … those are the only two guys I’d put ahead of him though

I like Kobe but i would have to put him 3rd only because Durant and Melo knack for scoring and shooting is just naturally superior but Kobe Wills and makes some tough moves and is a very heady player but Melo and Durant are just better pure scorers. Durant will overtake Melo maybe in two year though because he is a better 3 point shooter and with size and strength should be a beast in the post.

id say kobe and melo if you throw out if they have to or not. kobe on okc would be scoring that or more but since he has other very good players on his team he doesnt have to and some people forget that. plus i say kobe and melo because they can score in more ways then durant. if durant gets a post game as strong as theres then i will put him in the conversation but he is close

Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant are the only guys I say that are better pure scorers.

I don’t think Wade has the shot the other guys have to be considered a true pure scorer, even though when he gets hot he’s as good a shooter as there is in the NBA. But that only happens very few games every year.

Arenas does have alot of scoring ability and so does Danny Granger, even though he is rarely ever mentioned.

I would have to say Melo. His high post game is amazing and he has good handles, not to mention he is a great shooter. He is as big as Lebron and almost as fast. Durant is great but it’s really the post game of Melo that seperates him in my mind. Kobe is also very high but I’ve always thought his post game was overrated because all he is doing is taking a fader every time.

Wade is very capable of putting up big numbers but when i think of pure scorer i think of how many different ways they can score. Wade is a slasher with a great pull up jumper and will hit a three every now and then.

for the ppl who are putting Kobe at 3 and talkin bout his age is declining him…his age has nothin to do with his scoring without pau earlier in the year he was leading the nba in scoring for a while…living in the post…nobody has as many moves as this guy…and he was living in the charity stripe..now that he has some help down low he is forced shoot more jump shots.

which is why i included wade.. pure scorer just mean scoring.. either by driving or a jumper. wade can score just as much as durant and has before when healthy without being as good of a shooter.

i did cuz your takin kobe out your top three because of age and athleticsm…we are not takin bout who would win in a dunk contest…nobody can split a double like kobe and Wade….nobody has a better conter move then kobe…can durant shoot with his left hand or right hand…kobe has a better post game…you must have a short memory this offseason kobe took a couple of post moves from the dream and was the top scorer in the nba….and you completely knockin his game..and then you mention chris bosh…wat?

Arenas hasn’t been on the top of his game in 3 years.

I don’t really get why LeBron has barely been mentioned? He’s obviously, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best slasher in the game. No one drives with more consistency and ease than he does. And he’s a really good 3-point shooter these days. He has made more 3-pointers at a better percentage than Kobe this year, not to mention that he is clearly a better driver.

"Nobody can split a double like Kobe and Wade." Well, except LeBron, who does it about 20 times a game and rarely fails.

    1. LeBron James
    2. Carmelo Anthony
    3. Kobe Bryant
    4. Dwyane Wade
    5. Kevin Durant

How am I completely knocking his game at all? I said I have him at 3…that is Top 3 you know. I think Kobe is a hell of a player and still the best player in the NBA…not the best “pure scorer” he’s really good at scoring dont get me wrong…to be in the top 3 means your doing something right…but I think at this point Durant is a better “pure scorer”. Dont be a woman here and try to read between the lines and think I’m saying he’s a better player because he isnt. Read my post man.

Your right on Chris Bosh I probably got carried away…I just want some posts to get some love and they never do…its such a shame.
