d-grizzlyParticipantI feel as if Dallas is La’s strongest competition in the west now. Before, I was looking at Denver to cause a possible upset…but with martin and his knee…..I don’t know anymore.
The additions of Butler and Haywood, and the emergence of Beaubois… along side Kidd….and other talented players with Dirk as their leader… this team is strong enough to compete.

mwardiaParticipantdallas is a very good team once again. personnally i stil have lakers and magic rematch in da finals. but who knws, anythin can happen! Denver needs more depth off their bench imo to be on the level of dallas or la. i also wont be surprised if dallas steals the number 1 seed. they r very deep

JNixonParticipantI think they both are.
Denver has the mix of scoring (Carmelo, JR Smith, Chancey, Ty Lawson, Nene), defense (Afflalo, Birdman, Kenyon Martin if he’s healthy, Billups), and change-of-pace players (Smith, Lawson) to keep LA on their heels and beat them in a series if all goes well.
Dallas has Kidd finding youth, Beaubois can have the same impact Aaron Brooks had against LA last year, and Butler, Marion, and Haywood all are players that we’re brought in for postseason impact than regular season stuff. And you have Dirk of course, and Terry being an elite bench scorer. I think they have alot of the pieces and wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled the upset.

d-grizzlyParticipantTerry and Beaubois off the bench…not to forget Barea…that guy can change the pace of the game.
kidd, butler, marion, dirk, haywood, terry, beaubois, barea, stevenson, dampier, najera and singleton…..Just look at how deep the team is

BasterdInABasketParticipantDallas and LA have to be considered as the 2 elite teams in the west. Dallas knew they wouldnt be at that level until they got butler to cancel out artest and a solid big in haywood to help against bynum and gasol.
LA is going to end up regretting not going after another point guard though cuz fisher is no longer a factor on O or D and i dont see farmar stepping up in the playoffs.
A Dallas-LA series in the conf finals would have to go a full 7 they are that close but i would give a slight edge to dal for kidd and beaubois.0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 12:20pm #264910

DWadeBIWParticipantthey are good enough IMO, will they?– IDK, I’m just excited to see how this all plays out come playoff time.

LeroyJenkinsParticipantat the beginning of the season i never would have thought that i would be hoping for a dallas – lakers matchup in the playoffs

d-grizzlyParticipantPersonally, I don’t think Dirk or the Mavs are afraid of La, they might just be afraid of having to play miami and wade in the finals again XD! haha, joke of the day!

j1232eParticipantwhy is everyone counting the utah jazz out, I personally think they will win the northwest division and be a 3 seed. With the team finally learning how to win a game on the road they are a better team than the nuggets.

NYK2010ParticipantBoth can beat the Lakers.
Mavs could use Dampier as another healthy big against the Lakers.
Nuggets probably can’t w/out Kmart.0 - AuthorPosts
