At face value those numbers seem pretty decent, right? That is until you look at his shooting numbers, in his last 5 games he’s shooting 26% from the field. And he has the audacity to take almost 15 shots a game during that stretch, with 6 of them being 3s of which he makes 1. If you’ve watched Jennings you’ll realize his type of 3 point shot is the worst possible since he often takes pull up transition 3s with nobody under the rim, or 3s really early in the shot clock where as soon as he comes off a screen it’s going up. He can’t finish in the paint, and he can’t shoot, so does he do anything positive like run an offense like Rubio? Hell no, he gets his assists in the same way Marbury and Francis used to, where running the offense was secondary to them getting a shot. His first option is to shoot, and if it’s not there he’ll throw it to a teammate with the shot clock winding down.

This dude is like a holdover from the early 2000s where it was acceptable to have a player firing up horrible shots. He’s easily among my top 3 of least favorite players in the league, watching him play is straight Rudeboy status ಠ_ಠ and the worst part is he’ll have a night where he gets hot and it of course encourages him to keep shooting the next night, where he’ll go 6-18.

I honestly can’t think of a worse starting PG right now.

The only positive is that he is fun to use on nba2k

 You never once have seen me make a claim of Jennings being the worst PG in the league. I will not accept this. As erratic as he comes off, I actually like him as a player. I just need him to become that willing passer he once was. I’ve made numerous threads in the past speaking of this issue with his current style of play.

 Jennings’ downfall was where he went away from what he did best in HS, which was distribute the ball at a high rate. Once he left Oak Hill Academy, I knew he wasn’t himself coming into the league. Scoring was never a priority for him at the time, although he could fill up the scoring column. I actually believed his game would translate similar to Rondo’s role in the sense of being that pass first PG with a little more controllable flare of what he displays now.

He shot the ball a ton…  Didn’t he average damn near 35 points?  He had Tiny Gallon on his team.  I watched him in person a couple of times and to say he was a different player once he left is comical…  I think it all changed once he WENT to Oak Hill….  Dominquez HS was when he was that PG guy…  Him, Love, and a couple other guys were on the same AAU team…  So Cal All-Stars…  Dominating everyone….

Jennings was a willing passer in HS. I may have not watched every game, but I do acknowledge the fact that he would distribute the ball well without having the tunnel vision he is in now. I’m still trying to put it together where he got the notion of being the #1 scoring option. To be technical, Tony Wroten’s style of play is very similar to Jennings. This is no knock on Wroten at all, because I am huge on him as a passer. I highlight passing more than the scorer’s mentality that most straddle the fence with on both players.

One of the main problems for Jennings is and always will be his physical disadvantage. Look at him and tell me he was in the gym lifting weights ever. 

I know not everybody is build like Bledsoe which makes up for beeing a little bit to short as a shoot first pg but honestly I think if he ever decided to pack on a few pounds of muscles, like Rondo and most recently Knight did, he wouldn’t be able develop other areas of his game. 

He just isn’t Iverson who was a blur on the floor and played with much more passion, heart and attacked the basket no matter what. 

Jennings and Howard are the two players I dislike the most right now cause they never tried to adapt their games to the next level (Jennings) or completely failed to mature in any way (Howard). Dwight is so annoying to me, he really is like a 12 year old in a Superman body. Against the Nuggets on wednesday Dwight clowned around with the Nuggets mascot and gut his point on putbacks. He moves like a robot and I bet there are 20 centers in the league right now who have a better b-ball iq than him just not the physical tools to dominate like him, which btw. aren’t the same anymore after some back issues a while ago. 

To return to topic, JVG said Jennings is a good player but his shot selection is bad and so is his decision making. But if he doesn’t adapt in an way to what he is faced with every night, he will never be more than the chucker he is right now.

Those aren’t "worst PG in the game" numbers…  You can say you don’t like him, cool…  But knocking someone when they’re obviously in a drought is wrong…   Especially when you decide to use a small sample size to make your argument valid…
