Cameron Crazy 22Participantwith Glenn Davis out
Boston is supposed to sign Rasheed Wallace and Grant Hill
Rondo
Allen
Pierce
Sheed
Garnettanyone else thing they can make a title run again
i think adding wallace and hill makes them older but they can still play

birdman113if they can stay healthy they have a good chance.

J-CHRISTOSParticipantThey say Rasheed Wallace is in Dwight Howard’s head give Howard fits, and can also hit 3s so why didn’t Cleveland go after Wallace

llperezof course they can make a run at the title. The better question would be does anybody not think they can win the title. I think Boston is the favorite to win the east. I still put the Lakers slightly ahead of boston, but it would’nt suprpise me either way. RWallace was a big addition and getting Garnett back is vital. Unless they all start drasticaally showing their age all the sudden, that is gonna be a dominant team next year.

BasketballGuru24Participantthis is going to be a team to beat……and anything less than a championship is a disappointment…….but that also goes for san antonio , L.A, Clevland, And Orlando

Cameron Crazy 22Participantyour right about Spurs I think they have a 2 year window now to win…Duncan is getting old…Manu and Parker are going to want big contracts and I think they brough in Jefferson to make the run now
Boston
Cleveland
Lakers
Spurs
Orlandoare the teams to beat

jcjParticipantI agree on the Spurs having a two year window because of Duncan and Manu. Manu actually already makes a comfortable 10M. I don’t think its going to be a contract issue in two years – the question will be whether he will still be healthy enough to play at the level he has been in the past couple of years. In 2 years time, both Manu and Duncan may have a significant drop in performance.
As for Parker, he also already has a big contract (11M++) with about 3-4 years left I think. He’ll probably be the cornerstone of the rebuilding or be traded for a younger player to build around post TD.

d-grizzlyParticipantonly if garnets healthy.

gregoden08ParticipantBeing a Portland fan, I kind of hate this, but I got to give props to Boston for getting Wallace. This easily puts them over the top and I think the Lakers will not be able to handle them…ESPECIALLY if Rondo keeps improving that jump shot of his.

Ace Da RenegadeParticipanthell no paul pierce will not score lots of points against artest nor will allen against, rasheed wallace won’t dominate either because he never playsa his hardest or his best. rondo of course will dominate fisher cause well he’s old and garnett will dominate gasol. other than those 2 thats it you can’t win a finals on two players alone.
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/06/2009 - 8:40am #176995

gregoden08ParticipantKobe is the only player who will dominate Boston…and that’s only one player.

Ace Da RenegadeParticipantyea rite, k. perkins sucks he didn’t stop Howard but yet again who can? and he won’t do it against gasol who is more skillful than Howard. like i said KG is the only one who WILL hold his own. he’s the only one on boston that shows up every nite

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantArtest can’t guard both Pierce and Allen.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/06/2009 - 8:43am #176999

d-grizzlyParticipantkobe can make it pretty hard for allen while artest will cause hell for pierce. gasol has stepped up…maybe he can keep that going. bynum does dominate boston…if any team that i’ve seen him play against..it was boston…

Stanford hoopsParticipantlol..perkins is average but he did a good job against howard because hes physical…at this point if you can stop dwight from overpowering you you can play him pretty well..the downside is hes still young and developing post moves..once he develops that he will be unstoppable

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantEveryone is sleeping on the spurs.

Anton123ParticipantBoston is strange in a couple of years half of the stars will retire and Boston will become the same as they were in 2007, but with less talent

Stanford hoopsParticipantim not..the spurs will be good..they will fight the nuggets for the chance to get to the west conference championship

Tobe BryantParticipantBoston must stay healthy and instead of looking to the Lakers so soon, they should gear up for the Orlandos and Clevelands. It will be VERY interesting to see Boston up against the Cavs and how they will handle Shaq (even not in his prime but somewhat effective). I think the big thing for teams this free agency was versatility. Thats the new trend in the NBA.

MattissickParticipantI think they are in great shape. KG and Sheed are both really good defenders and if they keep perkins, that’s a third good defender.

pointguardfunParticipantlakers was said to have a clearer advantage than boston as far as personnel is concerned.. coach phil, kobe, gasol, fish and the bench had the advantage over their counterparts. but the C’s turned the tables, KG pawned Gasol, Rondo overplayed fish, and the bench (pj, powe, posey and cassell) was superb.
but now, i would go with the lakers. they have artest (burliest defender in the NBA) plus a healthy bynum(if healthy) and zen master and of course KOBE. the big 3 is old, add rasheed and hill (both old), that’s the big old 5 LOL.
