valentineDanny Ainge offering 4 first rounders to trade up a few spots for Justise Winslow, only to see Jae Crowder develop into a better version of Winslow.
Denver being excited about their cornerstone center of the future in Nurkic, only to see Jokic emerge as an even better cornerstone.
Porzingis going from wildly booed, to now selling the 4th most jerseys in the NBA
What else has happened that kind of came out of nowhere?

BallerScriptParticipantWinslow is a 19 year old rookie. How can you say that Crowder is better?

ScoutWillisCrowder has a good 3 point shot, something Winslow can only hope to develop, like Crowder used to be.

TheGuyParticipantits been about 40 some odd games and we are now going to declare Crowder as a good 3 poitn shooter, when he was never before? He’s been good this year and I’ve always thought he would be a solid role/rotation player, but c’mon, a lot of these guys on Boston are just getting a good oportunity, a lot of players if had this role in Boston would putting up similar numbers

ScoutWillisLast season Goran Dragic was a hot commodity, while his Suns’ teammate Isaiah Thomas and his cheap contract were hardly valued by the NBA teams. Thomas was traded for a single late first rounder, while Dragic was traded to Miami on the kept promise of a mega contract.
Now Isaiah is an all star and Dragic’s contract looks terrible.
Miami traded for the wrong point guard.

TheGuyParticipantNah, Dragic would be doing same kind work if he was in boston and had the keys to the car like Thomas does.

ScoutWillisNot defensively, and not over the next 2.5 years on a discount contract like Thomas.

ScoutWillisHe probably has the best agility in the league. He can stay in front of anybody, and he aggressively picks off 1+ steals per game. Check out his defensive rating or any other advanced stat indicator of defense.
He’s really giving it his all, and for some reason most teams don’t try to post him up.

llpereznba declining the hornets deal that would have landed them goran dragic, lamar odom, luis scola, kevin martin and a lotto pick because it was not enough instead taking a deal that landed them eric Gordon, chris Kaman, al farouq aminu and Austin rivers because that was the “superior” deal.

HeroescantdieParticipantNewly crowned superstar Anthony Davis and his Pelicans projected as a playoff team with the addition of Gentry, Davis would flourish, turns out, AD can’t stay on the game, he’s injury prone, and so as his teammates. They are below .500 and looks like they’ll be going to this draft with a high pick.

ScoutWillisThe last two top 10 Lakers draft picks have both been outplayed by their 2nd round fellow rookie picks.
Clarkson and Nance Jr are outplaying Randle and Russell.

YungmUNyParticipantI thought that when the Grizzlies traded Pau Gasol to the Lakers we were looking at one of the worst deals of all time. It was essentially billed as Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown’s expiring contract.
However, that trade wound up netting the Grizzlies (arguably) the greatest player in their franchise history in Marc Gasol.

thetruth87ParticipantLebron James’ "The Decision." Miami wasn’t really seen as the favorite to land him, if I remember correctly, until the acutal day of the announcement. Throughout the entire 09-10 season, New York, and Chicago fans were salivating at the thought of them landing the league’s best player, and what would become one of the best players of all time. Cleveland though was still seen as the favorite to resign him. He wouldn’t just ditch his home town team right?
People on twitter and reports throughout the days linked him with Miami the day of his announcement, but still everyone was shocked when he uttered the infamous "taking my talents to south beach" line. He would sign with the Heat and team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to form the "Big 3" and usher in a new era of the NBA that still has repercussions for all teams involved until this day.
