Kevin Durant, Carmelo, Vince Carter, Amare, Dwight Howard, the entire Nuggets and Hawks roster, ALL (losers that lack killer instinct) raised by single mothers.

(LeBron and Wade are anomalies and don’t count because they colluded and LeBron couldn’t win on his own…he too was raised by a single mother).

Noone ever wins on their own. Every great player to have won a championship has always had help. Jordan couldn’t win without pippen, Magic had Kareem, Bird had Mchale and Parish, Kobe and Shaq etc. No one has ever won a championship on their own its just too difficult to win an nba finals series on your own.

I don’t think there’s any question that when a father deserts his childrens’ mother, the child pays a price for it with regard to development in a number of areas.

That said, it certainly isn’t the child’s fault, and many have done an admirable job overcoming their obstacles.

KD is only 5 years into his NBA career, Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, LeBron none of these had won a ring after only 5 years in the league. Would whichever parent(s) have raised Adam Morrison count as he has won a ring for example?
