If there is no season how is the draft order determined

It’s a really good question, there was a forum on this a couple days ago. Just do another lottery and keep 15-30 the same? What are the other options? Simply redoing the league would greatly benefit it as it would decrease the parity between teams like Cle/Min/Det what have you w/out changing the rules/salaries, what have you.

….dont think so. We discussed on another thread and I am not sure an answer has been determined yet in the event of. Someone speculated that it could be 30 team lottery with odds based on last season rankings.

^if its a 30 team lottery with the previous years recrod i would extreamly happy with that as my raptors had the third worst record

yes, Raptors odds would be greater, but as I suggested, if the whole season was scrapped…why have a lottery, why not just go in order of record? in that case, Raptors would be guaranteed 3rd pick.

^ i dont know it just seems unfair to give two years of young talent to teams that struggled in a particular season…there should be some odds involved for all teams so they have some hope of getting something…I guess its a complicated issue and we will find out what happens

I think it would be fair to simply hold a lottery again using last seasons records. If you try and find a way to include all thirty teams, I could just see it now… and the 1st pick in the NBA draft belongs to… THE NEW YORK KNICKS.

After the NHL lock out a few years ago, I’m pretty sure they just did a full lottery with all the teams. where they have more rounds, i think they just reversed order from round to round.
