Cousins and Monroe don’t want to come to Minnesota, and the T-Wolves said Favors was out of shape and that made Favors’ agent mad. They need a small forward or a center. I say if the Nets take Wesley Johnson at #3 the T-Wolves would take Aminu, Aldrich, George, or they trade down. All three would be a good fit. A trade that I thought of was they trade the pick to Utah. Utah has liked Favors for forever and would want to trade up if he was there at #4.

Jazz trade #9 pick(Cole Aldrich or Paul George)
The Memphis Grizzlis future 1st round pick
    Ante Tomic

    for

    Timberwolves trade #4 pick(Derrick Favors)
    Cash Considerations

Win-win trade for both teams. Also if the Nets take Wesley Johnson at #3 and the T-Wolves trade the pick to the Jazz. This is my mock draft lottery if the draft went this way:

    1. Wizards- John Wall
    2. 76ers- Evan Turner
    3. Nets- Wesley Johnson
    4. Jazz- Derrick Favors
    5. Kings- DeMarcus Cousins
    6. Warriors- Al-Farouq Aminu
    7. Pistons- Greg Monroe
    8. Clippers- Gordon Hayward
    9. Timberwolves- Paul George
    10. Pacers- Ekpe Udoh
    11. Hornets- Ed Davis
    12. Grizzlies- Luke Babbitt
    13. Raptors- Eric Bledsoe
    14. Rockets- Hassan Whiteside

Sorry for such a long post I will explain anything that you have a problem with.

i think utah could try to move up and that would make sense. I think detroit would be the team trying hardest to get up to number 4 to take cousins. then at number 7 t-wolves could still get aminu, george or hayward

According to Draft Express and ESPN, NJ has decided to take Wesley Johnson at 3. I am not sure how much stock to put into that, but if they do, it will make things interesting.

Nets are bluffing… They know Minny wants Wes so they’re saying they are leaning towards Wes too so Minny trades up and gives up a pick another 1st to NJ…It’ll end up NJ-Favors, Minny-Wes regardless of where they pick I believe..

Here is the information from ESPN Insider:

UPDATE: Looks like Johnson is now in the lead for the Nets.

Ford has spoken to more sources on Monday and has revised his mock draft to include Johnson at No. 3. His commentary on the switch from Favors to Johnson is attached to the bottom of this post.

We’ve just noted that though the Nets are showing increased interest in DeMarcus Cousins, ESPN’s Chad Ford still projects Derrick Favors as the team’s pick.

But there’s another player the team is also mulling over: Syracuse’s Wes Johnson.

And that could put a wrench in Minnesota’s plans at No. 4, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports: “Perhaps it won’t be long until panic starts to set into the Minnesota Timberwolves … Syracuse’s Wesley Johnson is no longer assured to be available to them with the fourth pick in Thursday’s NBA draft. All along, the Wolves had planned to select Johnson at No. 4, and yet the New Jersey Nets are holding serious discussions about drafting the small forward and taking their chances with trying to sign a power forward in free agency.”

ESPN’s Chad Ford projects in his latest mock draft that the Nets will indeed select Johnson:

    ESPN’s Chad Ford
Why NJ is high on Johnson
“We’ve had Derrick Favors here for months. But after his workout for the Nets on Monday, Favors has fallen behind Johnson on their board, according to sources close to the situation. The Nets have needs at both the 3 and the 4 and feel they’ll be able to land an elite big man, like Carlos Boozer or Amare Stoudemire, through free agency. Meanwhile, they believe Johnson can come in and immediately start at the 3 for them.”

I like Spencers logic, Nets are bluffing, to see what the Wolves are willing to give up…

And it adds up, because the T’Wolves are trying to swap a few picks with Memphis

…yeah, this makes sense if they get a quality free agent PF.

I guess he could work as a Tayshawn Prince-skinny SF…

Probably a bluff, though, I agree. What guarantee do they have a Boozer or Stoudamire would sign with them?

minny needs to stay put, they will come away with favors, cousins, turner or johnson, they are in a good spot at 4, imo.

No way Minny trades up to get anyone except Turner. They will take Favors or Cousins if they drop to them and it won’t matter if they said Favors was out of shape or take Cousins even if he doesn’t want to go there. Either one will play there once the checks are written or become great trade bait for whoever wants to ante up.

i agree with spencer. i think the nets are bluffing just to see if miny will trade up. the thing is i know miny likes wes but im thinking if they move up they would take cousins or favors since they would now have the option to get one of them

The Nets are Not bluffing. They want to win sooner rather then later with thew new owner. The team is owned majority by a Russian Billionaire Playboy and minority by Jay-Z, Rapper-Fashion-Entertainment Mogul. With the new arena and the teams impeding move to move Brooklyn a lot of players are interested in playing their. They are also in a unique situation with a franchise center in Brook Lopez, and alot of cap room so they don;t really need to draft a big man. Wes Johnson has the ability to come in and start right away. Plus he’s in the mold of Rudy Gay and Josh Smith, two players who started atleast once in the career at shooting guard and power forward. Amare and David Lee already expressed their desire to play for the Nets a long with Joe Johnson. So even in the Nets dont get LeBron they can come away with a combination of Joe Johnson and Amare, or Rudy Gay and David Lee. Either way Wes Johnson fits perfectly between either one of them combinations because of his ability to play both Wing positions. After working out for the Sixers Doug Collins came away so impressed that if Turner wasn’t in the draft and the Sixers Didnt already have Thad Young he would be in serious consideration for the 2nd pick.

I do not want Johnson, we have T-Will & CDR to play the 3. If we select him we will not be filling a need @ the 4, it is not a guarantee we get a big name FA in the off-season.

why will the Nets be bluffing? The Sixers liked Favors a lot and if the Nets let him fall to the Wolves they are giving them better chance to trade for Turner as their package will look much better with Favors
I doubt the Wolves would even consider trading for the 3rd pick
