What should the T-Wolves do if they get both Irving and have Rubio? Trade one of them seems to be the obvious solution. But who do they trade? Who has the higher value? And what position do they try and get? Let me know what you think. (And they still have Flynn)

i was wondering this as well…since after the combine irvings value went down a little and knights stock went up a bit ( i presume from what i have read)….its possible the cavs could like the combination of Williams+Knight as upposed to Irving+Kanter…. they are probobly going to pick irving and trade him (since he has value)

Either trade the pick or pick someone else. Getting a 1st rounder next year is much more valuable than a first rounder this year. Picking Irving is useless.

That’s the big question for the Wolves, the top two players in this draft are now positions that the Wolves are pretty secure with. In my opinion if either of these players fall to the Wolves they’ll have significant trade value…possibly for the Wolves to trade for an established center or shooting guard, and trade down and aquire another first round pick.

I think the Raptors would be a great team for the Wolves to make a deal with. As a Wolves fan I like the sound of the Derozan deal.

you have excited wolves fans the past two years about the possibility that rubio will eventually play for them. they should def trade the pick away (i wonder if cleveland and detroit will revisit that three team deal)

I think Kahn would prefer to move Irving over Rubio.  The Rubio signing actually created some serious Wolves buzz around the Twin Cities.  Not to mention Kahn wants Rubio to be his "I told you so" prospect.

I honestly don’t know what the Wolves are going to do with the pick/roster.  Personally, it scares the hell out of me because as a Wolves fan I’ve grown accustomed to expect the worse.  But at the same time, I am extremely intrigued and anxious by all the what ifs.  I just hope we can get this thing right for once.

^^(BlueLaces) Exactly…Plus Rubio’s stock isn’t as high as it was when the Wolves drafted him. It’s hard to know when you haven’t seen the guy play. But if they really feel Kyrie is the real deal they shouldn’t pass him up.

This is why the Wolves need to trade the pick. It’s simple: You have enough young talent in Rubio, Beasley and Love (and Wes Johnson, who people forget was just a rookie last year), and you need veteran talent and you can acquire it easily with the assets you have. You don’t want to draft Irving to play behind Rubio or Williams to be the foil to Beasley and Love and even Randolph. Not only are they not sure things, but they play the most inconvenient positions.

IMO they should do all in their power to get Iggy, an incredibly versatile vet who’s the tied-best wing defender in the league and amazing team player and athlete and a very solid third scorer, which they need. I really don’t see a more perfect option, and I would try to make the move now because you never know what will happen on draft day.

i would still draft irving just in case rubio isn’t as good as predicted.  rubio at 6"5 could guard the SG and you could play both rubio and irving at once…

I would like to see them trade their pick to the Pistons for either Rip is they can figure it out financially or either get their 2012 pick.

Only at draft time is so much talk wasted on such a loser team as the TWolves.

^^Then why are you posting on this site?

The NBA draft isn’t about the best teams in the NBA, it’s about stuggling teams getting the best players to build up their roster to become good.

Irving is 3rd on my big board right now behind Williams and Kanter so to me the answer is simple.  Draft Enes Kanter.

    PG: Rubio 6’5

    SG: Wes Johson 6’7

    SF: Mike Beasley 6’9

    PF: Kevin Love 6’10

    C: Enes Kanter 6’11

Bench: Martell Webster, Jonny Flynn, Anthony Randolph, Niko Pekovich.

That’s a very tall and strong lineup who are all young can can grow together.  They are also a team that despite being tall and strong can get up and down the floor which is what they are going to want to do with Rubio.

I can see Kanter and Love controlling the Defensive boards and passing it to Rubio near midcourt who will have the ball in his wizard hands with the likes of Wes Johnson and Mike Bealsey flanking, or Randolph and Webster spotted up for a 3.

If they do trade this pick they need to find a way to get Biyombo.  What Rubio really needs along with transition players is a rim protector who can start the transition.  Also Iggy is indeed a perfect fit for the Wolves I said last year the Wolves should just trade the 4th pick to the Sixers straight up for Iggy if they were going to draft Wes Johnson who will never be better then Iggy.  Then you’re looking at Rubio running a break with Iggy is a nightmare to stop.

iggy makes perfect sense imo for the wolves great back court running mate for rubio provides a respected veterean presence for the wolves but if they cant trade the 2 why not take kanter hes a legit 6 11 270 pound center a position the t wolves need darko is a great back up or even a good starter on a good team but right now the wolves arent a good team
