OldSkoolBasketballParticipantHow good do you think Meeks would be with Wall and the others on the team with him? Can he be a 1st round pick? Lottery?

droppindimes247ParticipantYou really can’t say how well he would work with the team, but with his shot I think he would have racked up huge numbers. As for a lottery pick I would say no, but like I said how can you quantify what he “would” have done. You can look at Ohio State for instance their starting lineup would be Conley, Turner, Kufos, Oden, and Mullens if no one left early. Would this help or hurt their draft stock. Guys typically leave when they think their stock is the highest.

JNixonParticipantIf he returned I don’t think it was out of the question he could’ve went where Wayne Ellington was selected last year, in the mid-20’s or so. But who would return after they had so many electric scoring games like Meeks did last year? I know I wouldn’t lol

armanmeeks did the best thing for himself by declaring for draft last year…. his stock couldnt go higher… he would went undrafted if he stayed this year

JNixonParticipantUndrafted?

darkman97ParticipantBut I could see his stock going down. Playing with more scoring options he wouldn’t have gotten the amount of shots he got last year. KY added at least 3 high threat scoring options that they didn’t have last year. Meeks numbers would’ve dropped dramaticaly.

quinceyhodgesi agree you cant really tell but im pretty sure he doesnt go undrafted after being on this years team and probably going to the final four at least. things like that really help. if ben gordan would have been on a so so team he would have dropped in the draft although he still would have been good. when you are on winning teams you have a better chance of going higher. man that team would have been very very nasty

kaceyParticipantIf Meeks would have stayed, then you have to consider the possibility that one of the recruits that came in, wouldn’t have committed to UK (cough, cough, committed to John Calipari, cough, cough).
But actually, the more I think about it, Meeks had yet to make up his mind by time all those guys signed. Can anyone confirm that?

quinceyhodgesyeah i think they had already decided to go to kentucky. plus he was only gonna take bledsoe’s spot and he wasnt considered a one and done. plus he already knew wall was going there so i dont think he would have had a problem. especially knowing he was gonna take over the pg duties in year 2
