aivsdirkParticipantokay last idea today. Calderon of jaret jack but favorably calderon to thunder. Sign him for about 4 years and move Russell to the 2. calderon is a great passer. This move would eliminate westbrook from getting the inbounds or getting a defensive rebound and rushing up the court only to shoot I know being that good he wants to be aggressive but he is got to learn to compromise and orchestrate the offense. Ibaka some games barely gets any touches because Russell goes into score mode and perkins who did score over 10 per contest with boston one year comes to okc and barely show any confidence in his game. Come on that’s a point guard not helping his big man out. Here is the big issue Russell limits durants touches whether Durant looks to score or not you cant just look the guy off a third of the time. with russel at the 2 he would still average around 5plus a game and would still get many buckets in transition you administers his usual damage but in a smaller sample with less points and touches. I think sliding jack or calderon to the 1 for the next 4 years would help ball movement and keep ibaka improving at faster rate with consistent touches for everyone especially durant. let your opinions fly with it.

SuckerpunchParticipantI was just about to try and check out those stats. Thanks for that!
I don’t even think EuroBaller has made such an impact in such a short timeframe!0- Posted on: Wed, 07/03/2013 - 6:54pm #812601

ProudGrandpaParticipantEuroballer?? Man, you young kids haven’t even seen anything close to what true bad-ness on this forum is. DNYCE was the worst poster ever. Dude has a previously-untouchable -23000 points. EuroBaller won’t ever SNIFF that. But I’m thinking this new kid might.

B-ball fanParticipantJarrett Jack and Jose Calderon wouldn’t really get Durant or Ibaka more touches. Westbrook is still going to get his and, frankly, I don’t really have as much of a problem with Westbrook leading the break and pushing the tempo as some people do. He has to improve his ability to pick his spots, but his aggressiveness can put tons of pressure on defenses. Calderon wouldn’t be a bad backup PG who could run the offense when Westbrook struggles, but the team needs frontcourt help much more. And Jarrett Jack really isn’t a great passer himself. He looks for his shot too much to be a great option for OKC and he wouldn’t help space the floor.

aivsdirkParticipanthow can you say, definitively, a more willing passer starting at the 1 would not give Ibaka and Durant more touches? Jack is not as willing a passer as calderon but he did facilitate enough touches fro everyone when he was playing the one this season.I do not have a problem with his aggression he just seems to sometimes forget he is the point guard, whose jobs entails make sure everyboy touches the ball and touch it enough to be effective and confident when they get it.

aivsdirkParticipant2nd sentence i meant to say jack facilitated good enough for the warriors in the post season for everyone to have enough touches

Raef LaFrentzParticipantSo you want Russell to shoot less to help Perkins get his confidence back?
Nice.
Just giving you a hard time. But seriously, I don’t like either idea. You win games by putting the ball in the hands of your best player. While Durant is obviously their best player, Westbrook is a hell of a #2 option, my brother. Durant still gets his touches too, even though he doesn’t see the ball nearly enough.

aivsdirkParticipanti think i understand you now if thats all you got from it,but clearly perkins who was atleast decent offensively in boston is a shell of what he could be in okc. everyone can see the individual talent, but who is usually the one who gets their offense stagnant in the first place russell.in the fourth when okc’s ball movement stops a point guard like calderon or jack can resuscitate the life back into the ball movement, or better yet keep the ball movement from stopping in the 1st place
