halfdecayedParticipantThe title says it all.. I know this might seem premature, but Kawhi picked up right were he left off and he’s going to get even better with this group. Let’s not forget Danny Green too who defends is ass off and is also a champion.. This team is really deep, athletic and scrappy.. I like them over the Celtics, even though they might have more talent, there’s just one ball on the court and while the Raps move the ball very well, the Celtics do to but it doesn’t feel as natural.
Cs just dropped a home game against Orlando while the Raps destroyed the Hornets (Kemba was on fire prior to this game even though he played well, he was contained, got his shot rejected a couple of times)..
Lots of us thought the Celtics had the east in the bag but I now beg to differ..

BasterdInABasketParticipantCeltics-Raptors 7 game series sounds incredible. Toronto was the top seed last year and upgraded bigly from Derozan to Kawhi. Celtics will get it together sooner rather than later. They almost have too many talented pieces, I’m goijg to assume Stevens makes it work. Watch out for Milwaukee too especially if they’re in the top 4 around January and make a big trade.

ChrispyParticipantGiannis is MVP this year. That is my bold prediction. He is incredible. And he isn’t scared to shoot anymore. Fuck if it isn’t going in yet, the fact is he is willing to pull. This bodes well. Celtics-Bucks-Raps is my ‘Big East’ right now…

OhCanada-ParticipantThis Toronto team is really good. They have everything. Ive yet to see a weakness other then defensive rebounding positioning on 3 point shots which is tough for any team really. I dont think anyone in the East can compete with them and I think they hav e a real shot of not only winning it all but retaining Kawhi.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIt’s a long season.
The Raptors should be taken very seriously though. All of the "experts" seem to think Boston already has it locked up. I’ve read and listened to more about the 76ers than the Raptors, which is crazy to me.

Meditated StatesParticipantRaps had best regular season record last year too. They did not reach east finals either. Playoffs is best out of 7 man. Celtics were 1-3 after 4 last year and then won 16 straight. Its just too early for those assessments.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe Raptors may very well be the best team in the East this year, but part of the difference in perception – beyond the preseason concern about whether Kawhi was healthy and interested- has to do with the windows. Boston seems set for a long run atop the East whereas Toronto’s window is tied entirely with Kawhi. If he leaves, Toronto is set up for a rebuild.

OhCanada-ParticipantIf he leaves Raptors are still a playoff team but not legit contenders. Lowry has been playing at an extremely high level and everyone on this team gets better every year. I love Demar but its not like losing Derozan would take last years team from 59 wins to 35 this is a playoff franchise and everyone on this roster has a dominant winning mentality plus they play in the East and neither would losing Kawhi. Leonars sat out the game against Washington and we won on the road.

The GoatParticipantThis is it for the Raps. I don’t know if everyone believed in Kawhis professionalism, but I tell you what, he has come in with the right attitude and ready to play. It’s infectious. Danny Green has too and it speaks volumes for the Spurs program.
They have played as well as anyone. They have flexible lineups and if they can push aside ego and dodge injury, there is enough class there to win the East.

BogDon_KryptParticipantI gave you plus one on 5 of your above posts and a neg for post #4. I found it redundant to post #6. However, post #3 was a Bogdan of a post and post #2 could flat out Bogdan.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantThe Raptors are one of the top teams in the east but alot will depend on Kawhi’s health and if the rest of the team is consistent as they can disappear on the big stage..Celtics are a work in progress: Taytum has assecended to a top 3 player on his team last season and their original 3 are adjusting to that,Kyrie and Hayward now are being reintergrated and working themselves in to legit game shape they will be rusty.
But I will put it this way Kawhi legit healthy(90%-100%) is better than anyone else out East hands down however the playoffs and the better coach will truly dictate who has the better overall team not just one player.
