I have a knack for finding ridiculous things…But this is borderling freak-ish…Like, I’ve had to refresh my computer multiple times, and I still am not sure if someone’s playing a sick trick on me. I really am beyond shocked.

These are 2 different players…yes 2 different players

    A) 8.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.0 apg, .446% FG, .196% 3PT, .706% FT, 0.7 spg, 0.3 bpg, 440 games played, 121 games started, 22.6 mpg

    B) 8.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.0 apg, .446% FG, .196% 3PT, .706% FT, 0.7 spg, 0.3 bpg, 440 games played, 121 games started, 22.6 mpg

Literally. You’re not mis-reading. They have identical stats. Identical. The 2 players are Glen Davis and Josh McRoberts.

McRoberts was drafted in 2007 with the 37th pick

Davis was drafted in 2007 with the 35th pick

That’s not right, on ESPN their stats are totally different.

I believe it now, having done the simple math, but I can’t figure out how WikiPedia screwed up to the tune of Glen Davis’s identical career stats

I can’t believe you noticed the error. That sounds like a needle in a haystack find. Who would notice the stats were identical (inaccurate or not)?

Glen Davis would laugh uproariously if someone told him he’d posted as many assists as josh mcroberts in his career

I compared the two using the basketballreference (who I generally find to be reliable) comparison tool.  No corolation at all there, your source must have been inaccurate.

Pro tip, double check when going straight off Wikipedia. A very good resource but should be taken with a grain of salt.

Never use Wikipedia for a stats. Basketball-reference is awesome for pros. ESPN is also pretty good, and Sports-Reference and statsheet.com are good for college guys. Hoops-Math has some good shooting stats for collegiate players a lot of sites don’t have.

You surely must have been tempted to double check after finding every single stat matched exactly

That and the fact that the only time mcroberts shot below 19.6% from three were his first 2 season when he shot 0% from 3. He would have had to be like 0 for 40 combined at least to drop his 3 point shooting that much
