Felton in 24 minutes had more turnovers than points, rebounds, and assist combined.

0 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assist with 5 turnovers.

He’s really struggled shooting the ball all year. Its to bad he looked close to an all star in NY playing in Mike D’Antoni system.

    Febuary 9th vs. Boston

    24 mins 0-7fg, 0pts, 1reb, 2ast, 2to, 2 fouls   (+/-, -10)

I’d say Felton played a bit worse having 3 more TO, but Fisher gives that line a good run on a nightly basis.

but enough is enough. Hockey assist? really? He is shooting .352 on the year and .256 from three, when all we expect of him is to hit the open 3 when Bynum, KB, or Pau gets doubled. Worse than that his perimeter D, or lack thereof has been hurting us for as long as I can remember. He was negotiating while he was supposed to be training so I give him a pass because obviously his legs aren’t in his shots

@adum "I think DFish’s stats days are over but he’ll always know how to play"

honestly he never had days of good stats, and idk if he’ll "always know how to play" because as a pg he never had great vision or passing…IMHO he is of no value to Lakers at this point and time.

i cannot disagree with anything you said, i upped you because i like your argument. but

"he is of no value to Lakers at this point and time."

is not true. he’s got leadership, and is a vocal leader in the locker room. trust me, i wish the heat can pick him up  for vet min if the lakers release him to mentor cole and chalmers…. it’s all about discipline and will to win. part of the reason Riley is such a big fan of guys like haslem, joel anthony, j. howard, house.

you needs guys like these to win.

Fish is a good locker room guy, but LAL collectively is so experienced and battle tested his elder services would be better served on an OKC or MIA like you said, just to talk to the guys and keep their minds right.

Maybe i’m just mad @ fish for being blown by so much, but he is having a real hard time on the court right now. I’d love to have him on our bench, just out of the rotation which will probly b the case in the near future.

    last year DJ Augustine exploded for a gargantuan night encompassed by this astounding stat line;

    0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 blocks, 1 assist, 1 steal, 4 turnovers, 32 minutes played

I don’t think anyone is allowed to say anything in the Lakers locker room other than Kobe. So while Fisher is definitely a veteran leader (heck he is leader of all the players in the lockout), I don’t think the Lakers really need it because they have Kobe. I think this is just a good example of a new coach just relying on a veteran player because he can point back and say, "Well Phil Jackson played Fisher, so how can you question me for doing the same thing?"

Also, I’m pretty sure Steve Blake isn’t a major upgrade.

Obviously, I would be searching the D-Leagues for another JLin. But I’ve said that lots of teams should be doing that. The Coaches and GMs just don’t want to take risks and make a mistake.

This may be rock bottom, but he has been fairly terrible in his time as a Blazer. He showed up looking like this:FKT

Not exactly the picture of fitness or preparedness for the NBA season. If anyone "Kemped" into this season from the Lockout, twas Raymond. Basketball apparently, did stop. I bumped this thread after Raymond’s continuing wackness, but here is "Why Raymond Felton can’t be elite":

Now to be fair, Felton has always looked a chubby in the neck area, some people just have the turtle neck syndrome…He was always thought of as one of the fastest Pg’s in the league, now he’s one of the fattest Pg’s in the league…And to think, he an amazing season last year while he was in New York, I think his confidence went into the shitter after that Melo Drama Trade because he was what New York seemingly needed for years( an All Star Level Pg) …and Then they trade him and half the Lineup for Carmelo Anthony and Felton hasn’t really mentally recovered from it, Chandler looked a little affected by the trade too, but at least he got to play some Alpha Dog in China to keep up his confidence…IMHO Felton needs another change of scenary, and I have the perfect fit for him, Phoenix…I would love to see a Felton for Brooks swap, maybe Robin Lopez comes to Portland and the Suns get one of the Sg’s(Wes Mattews or Jamal Crawford)…Just a thought…But deep down I believe Felton fat jokes are a little harsh, this guy did have a few too many Fish Tacos and it shows in his play…But he was playing at a fairly high level last year in D’Antoni’s system(a System which has created a Fraud Star in Jeremy Lin)…So I leave with these questions…Is Raymond Felton really this bad? Can players actually be greatly affected by who they play for and how they are allowed to play? Is it suprising that anomalies like Jeremy Lin happen when a coach runs a system built to inflat a Point Guards offensive stats(Much like hiring Positional Coaches in The NFL who focus on the Offensive and Defensive lines,Thus improving stats in certain areas)…I look at coaches like D’Antoni a lot like I look at a coach like Mike Shanahan in the NFL, Shanahan could always find a running back to rush for over a thousand yards in a season so long as they were capable, just Shanny does with RB’s by focusing on the O Line, D’Antoni focuses on the success of his Pg’s…D’Antoni’s system has maxed out a player like Lin’s skillset, could you Imagine if a player like Deron Williams had that type of freedom, Hell if some of the young Pg’s played with that kind of freedom their stats would likely trump Lin’s…Anyway, Felton hurt himself coming in to the season out of shape and playing for a Coach like McMillian who likes to slow things up(A travesty with All those athletes and Felton at Pg, who he could whip into shape with a free break attack based offense)

As much as I would love to see AB in a Blazers uni, not trading Wes Matthews and Jamal Crawford to do it. Raymond for AB in a sign and trade maybe, but not throwing in one of those SG’s unless I am getting something a lot more legit as the second banana in the deal.

Now, let’s dispel a myth: Raymond was an All-Star caliber PG under D’Antoni. The dude put up decent numbers, 17 and 9 in 38 mpg. Indeed well over his career averages. But he shot 42% from the field and 32% from 3. New York was 28-26 with Raymond running the point. Amare Stoudemire was much more of a reason for the turnaround, it was not like New York was this contending team that traded an All-Star PG.

He might have been the third most deserving PG in the East as far as making the All-Star team, but their was a HUGE gap between Rose, Rondo and Raymond. Most of the best PG’s were in the West, so you still had guys like Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Tony Parker and Steve Nash having much better seasons. So that would put Raymond 9 statistically, not bad. But, lets also factor in the system he was playing in. This was a system that saw Chauncey Billups put up 17.5 and 5.5 playing 31.6 mpg to Raymond’s 38. It is a system that saw Chauncey and the Knicks rattle off 7 straight wins at the end of the season when he was settled in.

My point is, Raymond was never as good as people believed he was with his brief time with the Knicks. There is a reason Ty Lawson was starting over him in Denver and it was not purely due to chemistry. The dude is a flat out far superior PG. As is Andre Miller. Andre was never known for being a stud athlete or incredibly quick with the ball. But, even in his first season with the Blazers, where he failed Nate McMillan’s conditioning check and was (unfairly) backing up Steve Blake, the dude was doing damage. He is a much more complete player, much smarter and he knows his limitations, which Raymond shows little acceptance of.

I do not buy the confidence argument. To me, that is straight bull$hit. This guy was flat out given the reigns to a proven play-off team and he showed up in bad shape with play that has been even worse. The funny thing is, call it the system, but the Blazers were trying to play an up-tempo style, much like both teams he played for last year. Why is this such a radical change? It was not, Raymond just flat out looks bad out there. His shot is way off kilter, his decision making is porous and he is at his best against bad teams, who the Blazers still struggle to beat with him at the helm. I love Jamal Crawford as a scoring guard and a bench presence. The fact that I think he should start at PG for the Blazers shows how much faith I have in Raymond Felton’s ability right now. Truly, Jamal Crawford looks like the better option at PG right now, which should show you how far Felton has fallen from his "fringe All-Star" days with the Knicks.

But I was just trying to give you an example of what could be wrong with Felton, i agree that his conditioning has a huge part in his poor play, and I also gave credit to NY’s system in making Felton look better than he was in Reality(maybe Ny Lin fans should take some notice???) People last year argued with me that Felton was better than Holiday, they through all of Feltons stat lines at me…Now Holiday is far superior to Felton and it’s not even a debate…

If you asked the Knowledgable Baskestball fan who’s better Holiday or Lin, what would his answer be???
