MopgrassParticipantHe’d been one of the best for a while. He’s got 5 good albums. If anything, dude tries too hard. Yeezus, a very bad album shows him trying way too hard. Effort isn’t the problem.
Sadly, dude is way out of it. His longest collaborator just quit. He said he needed to get rid of all his yes men, get some psychological help, and for people to stop taking his mental ailments as entertainment. That’s on point.
I’m not wild about how people react. People love themselves a train wreck and, frankly, just bully the person until they destroy their careers permanently or actually die (Michael Jackson, Anna Nicole Smith, Whitney Houston, etc). Kanye isn’t quite right and everyone’s looking for him to slip up. He couldn’t do anything right in people’s eyes no matter what he did.
If you were told Kanye had schizophrenia (that’s not it), everyone would be a lot cooler to him. They’d think, "Oh, he can’t help it, he’s actually diagnosed." Of course he has a mental condition and just because we might know the name doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take it down a notch in our deriding of this man.
Yes, I roll my eyes when he says most anything, but he’s also shown a lot of compassion for other people and we need to look at media bullying (bullying by the media) as a real problem.
