Lotto StudParticipantGuys that should have made the jump the previous year but more than likely will stay much much longer to where it cannot hurt nor help their stocks…
- James McAdoo
- Alex Poythress
- Glenn Robinson III
Who else should be listed?

B-ball fanParticipantMitch McGary might be in kinda the same boat, as well as Rasheed Sulaimon.
I think these players might as well stay in school and see if they can break out. Guys like Poythress and Sulaimon are in tough positions where they can only do so much by staying in school to boost their stock due to the difficulty finding playing time.
McAdoo and Robinson absolutely can improve their stocks, but they need to show genuine improvement to do so. They each have been given an opportunity with playing time and will continue to get burn. McAdoo will have to fight more for minutes than GR3, though, since Brice Johnson and the rest of UNC’s frontcourt is talented enough to chip away at McAdoor’s role and minutes if his game stagnates.
GR3 probably would be helped if Stauskas declares for the 2014 draft. Then he will be given more of a chance to work with the ball in his hands. He is a good ball handler, but still needs to polish his shooting off-the-dribble and improve his off hand. If GR3 can become as good a scorer as he looks, than he could definitely boost his stock.

IknoBall12ParticipantWith the point about sulaimon. He was never even being considered as a player who would leave early for the nba. McGary had legit cause

IhateusernamesParticipantMcGary killed his career by coming back. He was already 2 years older than his class. A 21 year old freshman. He had no upside to coming back especially since he is just a glorified hustle player. Cant shoot, and no real offensive go-to moves.

WetalkinboutpracticeParticipantDon’t think he killed his career per say, but he definitely lost himself a lot money. He’ll still have an opportunity to carve himself out a role in the league (health permitting). The difference is he’ll most likely have to do it as a second rounder with no guarantees (both on the roster and financially) as opposed to being a potential first mid first rounder who’d have been given a guaranteed contract with a lot more loot over the first few years of his career.

imAboutDatActionParticipantPoythress wasnt going to be a first round pick last year though. he ended the year horribly. i believe he had a long stretch where he didnt score in double digits. He seems to me like a 4 year player now, a tweener with no real skills, jus an incredible athlete.
GR3 should leave now. with Stauskas leaving, its only going to make it more difficult for him.
Mcadoo should leave as well. he’s a fringe 1st rounder, early 2nd. i doubt another year can improve anything. he really hasnt shown any major improvement the past couple years. i guess he can stay one more year, get his degree, and enter a weaker draft, but his stock wont improve much.

HaleParticipantJames McAdoo-His stock is destroyed. He might as well come back. UNC should be really good next season and it will give him another year to prepare for the NBA.
Alex Poythress-Not going to be picked high this year but you can see he’s fitting a role much better than last year. With the class next season he won’t get a ton of burn again but as a senior he could be leader and get taken. He’ll always have great physical tools, if he can develop the rest of his game it’ll help him get that 2nd NBA contract. He should stay.
Glenn Robinson III-Needs to go. He played pretty well in the 2nd half tonight and his stock is still clearly in the first round. If he goes to a contender he can develop there. If he comes back to Michigan and disappoints again it will make his stock plummet.
