The8thDeadlySinParticipantIDK if it is even possible but during the next season, assuming there is one, the Magic are going to be trying to convince Dwight Howard taht the best place he can be is in Orlando.
A couple of trade options..
Magic/Jazz
Magic get:
Al Jefferson
Mehmet OkurJazz get:
Hedo Turkolu
JJ Redick
Ryan AndersonWhy??
Well, Dwight needs help scoring.. Al Jefferson is a fantastic low post player that can play from the block to 15 feet out. He would be a very nice complemtn to Dwight and give Howard another big man to play with.. Also, Mehmet fits well with either of those guys. He can stay out of the way and shoot from range.. Yeah, the Magic lose Hedo, who was a big play maker for them but something had to give.. Redick and Anderson were nice role players but they Anderson is instantly replaced by Jefferson/Okur and Redick wasnt much more than a decent defender and an average shooter..
The Jazz give up a Turkish player to get another one. This will help their new rookie. He will be a better fit for Kanter because they can be on the floor a lot together.. Turk is a fantastic play maker and that will be needed with Harris as the PG.. He isnt much of a creator.. He can get his but not much for others.. And with AK47 probably leaving and Gordan Hawyard not ready to step in the starting role, Hedo is a good fit.. Redick is a nice role player as a shooter/defender and Anderson is a good player off the bench.. Wouldnt see much time.. Getting rid of 2 bigs and only getting 1 back clears up time for their young duo.. Kanter and Favors should be great together and Milsap is gonna do his thing.. Win-Win?Magic 7:
Nelson
Arenas
Richardson
Jefferson
Howard
Okur
BassJazz 7:
Harris
Burks/Hayward
Turkolu
Milsap/Favors
Kanter
Magic/Warriors
Magic get:
Monta Ellis
Andres BedrinsWarriors get:
Hedo Turkolu
JJ RedickWhy?
The Magic get a legit backup C that they have longed for since they traded Gortat.. Bedrins is a great defender and can rebound like no other.. Also, for short amounts of time, he and Howard could play together and be one of the best defensive front lines in basketbal.. With Monta, well, everyone knows what Monta can do.. If Van Gundy can wrangle the beast and tame it, Monta could have just enough fire power to push the Magic over the top. Monta and Arenas in the same backcourt could be insane but it could be they type of chaos that the Magic need.
The Warriors are looking to clear out Monta.. No matter what they say, they want rid of him. They say they want a dominate big man but those are hard to come by.. With their young draft pick, Thompson, they are gonna want to get him comfortable with Curry.. The only way to do that is dump Monta.. Now, with Turk, they can just buy him out or flip him in another trade or something… Redick is a nice player in their system and could be a player… The biggest part of this trade involves dumping Monta.Magic 7:
Nelson
Ellis
Richardson
Bass
Howard
Arenas
AndersonWarrior 7:
Curry
Thompson/Wright
Turkolu
Lee
Udoh/TylerNow, in these trades, the Magic are going to have to do their best to get some FAs to come their way for cheap. The Magic are in a hell of a bine if they dont do something and are still in trouble if they do…

rileymcshea3ParticipantThe first trade wont work because then the Magic wont even have a sg anymore because Jason Richardson is a free agent and then the Jazz wont have a back up center. And Hedo isnt a good fit for the Jazz he would just ruin the development of there younger players and there future .Besides im pretty sure they would want Gordan Heyward to start .But i do like the idea of Al Jefferson going to the Magic

rileymcshea3ParticipantIm sorry but that second trade is just outragous and is a huge loss for the Warriors…. even though J.J would be a great fit for the Warriors system he would be a HUGE downgrade from Monta Ellis …….And you must be way to high on Turkoglu even though you arnt spelling his right but you are overrating Hedo by alot

Kinguy11ParticipantThe magic get another second really good centre (Al Jefferson). Yeah…this will convince Dwight Howard to stay in Orlando. (Hopefully the sarcasm was obvious).

xavier328ParticipantBy convincing Gilbert Arenas not to pick up his option after this year in order to sign CP3 or D-Will…not sure how much cap room they would have.

GottaFeedTheFamParticipantThat second trade is absolutely terrible, you completely undervalued Monta and on top of that JJ and Hedo’s contracts are terrible, the Warriors would never take that kind of money on. The only way the Magic get rid of Hedo’s contract is if hes packaged in a deal with Dwight, its one of the worst contracts in the league (44 mil/4years left).

BigDParticipantThe only way Howard is going to stay is if Arenas starts playing well again with confidence and being the old Agent Zero he used to be, and if they can get a decent 2nd option type player, Beasley, Iggy etc.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’m with BigD
The only way they’ll keep Howard is if Arenas plays ANYTHING like he used to. If he could average at the very least 20ppg, that would make Jameer Nelson expendable. They could then trade Jameer Nelson and Bass (or Anderson) for a starting power forward. They would also NEED to sign F/A Mickael Pietrus. He would provide a HUGE lift defensively. They could move forward with a starting rotation of:
- Gilbert Arenas
- Jason Richardson
- Mickael Pietrus
- Starting PF (acquired from trading Nelson and Anderson/Bass)
- Dwight Howard
And three key reserves with:
- Hedo Turkoglu
- J.J. Redick
- Brandon Bass or Ryan Anderson (depending which the keep with the Nelson trade)
They have all the players on the roster, they just need to put it together.
And in all honesty, they need to fire Stan Van. This whole, "3PT barrage or bust" offense will never work. They should have fired him this off-season with so many good coaches but they missed out.

aamir543ParticipantMonta Ellis is an All Star caliber player in our league, and we get basically nothing in return.

Lotto StudParticipantMonta would be a legit addition but me personally I think Dwight needs another physical prescence down low beside him to take away from the abuse & double-teams he commands.
If I were in Orlando’s front office, I would exercise the thought of aqcuring a big from Utah, since they currently have 4 to choose from……I think the best route would be Favors(no biased) If you think about it he would be put on the block before Jefferson, Millsap, or Kanter especially with him not really "fitting in". BTW he is only 20 with the potential to be a stud, if giving the opportunities which he would get beside Dwight. You can’t teach size & he has plenty of it with his 6’10” 246lb frame.

21_21_42ParticipantHoward is going to become a F/A and stay in the east "AKA Beast of the east" and become a NY Knick. It’s his only opion to become a BIG 3 and a contender.

TheLastWordParticipantThey need to trade Howard and begin the rebuild asap, just like Utah and Denver did. Do not let him walk like Toronto did with Bosh, or they will be rebuilding for the next 5-10 years. I’ve looked over that roster and it is hopeless, a combination of bad management and bad luck I would say.
