FutureNBAGMParticipantI’m posting this after reading just now about the 5year/$145million extension Anthony Davis got. Let’s say Detroit were to offer an extension for Drummond this summer. How much do you think he should get? At first, I was thinking 5years at around $80 million or so but now I’m starting to wonder.

ExumInfernoParticipantDrummond will get the maximum. Large, powerful centers are rare and at least two teams will want him and push the price to the top. It only takes one team with cap-room and a need at center and the Pistons will have to pay big.
Monroe out assures everyone that Detroit is making Drummond their superstar in the paint, and they will pay anything to keep him.
Just like Dwight Howard, and Bogut and D Jordan, they won’t be paying for Drummond’s free throw shooting. They are paying for size and strength, and rebounds, and blocks, and hoping he scores a bit more and can improve at the foul line.

chaParticipantDrummond has expressed he wants to negotiate his contract extension now instead of going into the whole free agency experience. He mentioned that he wants to win now and is losing weight in order to be more effective in longer stretches of time by improving his conditioning- he does not want to have the extension in the back of his mind throughout his pivotal season for him and the Pistons. Persoanlly, if I were him, I’d take an one year extension contract now and be an unrestricted agent because come 2016-2017 season the salary cap would be raised all the way up to 108 Mil projected. He is a rare commodity in today’s NBA and, in my opinion, what Stan has been doing for this team, his numbers and game will only go into an uptick. He’s a special talent who happens to be very durable especially considering he’s not even in his optimal conditioning. Right now with a lackluster third season in the associationm he’s worth around 17-20 Mil/year however I project him to be a max contract player in the 30 mil range after next season. All the off season moves are concentrated into gettting role players that fit Stan’s system. Ersan coming, Greg seemingly ready to move, drafting Johnson and signing shooters. He will be the top center come next season.

FutureNBAGMParticipantI thought I read somewhere that next years cap will be around $81 million. Is it really $108? Wow! No wonder there’s so many eye-popping deals happening(as I’m typing this, just learned about Khris Middleton’s deal as well).

jaycee24ParticipantIm honestly surprised he’d take an extension when I’m pretty sure the Pistons front office would pretty much do anything to keep him I’d probably take the qualifying offer if I was him tbh
